The Small Animal Clinic

The Small Animal Clinic has a 5x3m indoor heated pool, offering hydrotherapy for dogs with various health conditions such as osteoarthritis and hip/elbow dysplasia. We are also able to provide fun and fitness swims (including swimming with jets for the fittest dogs!) and puppy swims. Your dog will be swum in a controlled environment by a qualified hydrotherapist ensuring they are in safe hands at all times. Hydrotherapy is a fantastic way for dogs to exercise in a non weight bearing environment - meaning a vast reduction in pain whilst exercising. It enables muscle mass to build supporting joints and increases synovial joint fluid, aiding mobility. In addition the the pool, we are able to design an individual massage and rehabilitation protocol for your animal and their specific needs. Various techniques are used to provide support and aid your animal's health in multiple ways. Rehabiltation massage techniques are used if your animal is suffering from an illness, injury or ongoing condition. If your animal is in training or competition, we can offer performance massage to optimise performance, increase flexibility and reduce the chance of injury. If your animal is due for surgery or has recently undergone surgery, massage can be of great support to the immune system, helping to reduce inflammation and assist in the recovery from anaesthesia. Or, if your animal is sadly in their later stages of life, massage can be designed to nuture your animal, providing pain relief and support when it is needed most.
