Silver Linings

At Silver Linings we only use positive re-enforcement to train your dog. This is the most ethical way to train and does not utilise any form of punishment. We take this one step further to a new innovative form of training called Concept Training. This moves away from the traditional models where your training aims might be to expose you dog to as many situations or environments as possible in as short a time as possible. Instead we look at building your dogs confidence, their focus and calmness, and their relationship with you so that they are better prepared to deal with life’s many situations.

We do this because we believe that it is impossible to train for every scenario you might experience with your dog, but is is possible to build your dog into a calm, focussed pet that doesn’t become over aroused in new situations. If you have an anxious of reactive dog we can build optimism and confidence and provide you with management strategies to deal with the scary things your dog will face.

We do this primarily through the power of training with games. Each game is designed to build at least one of these Concepts;

Game based training is fun for you and your dog and most importantly can be fitted into your life with minimal disruption. We advocate playing a few three minute games each day to achieve the best results.

We believe that dog training is a ongoing process that never ends and should be tailored to each individual dog. Depending on your dogs preferences some things can be learnt in a few repetitions of training and some take a lot longer but with commitment to your dog and the training they need, we can sculpt them into a calm and confident dog or overcome unwanted behaviours your dog may be showing, providing you with the confidence to manage any situation.
