“I am lucky enough to have made a living from my two passions in life. Playing rugby professionally I had a career with Newcastle Falcons and have represented my country in the game. Following professional retirement in 2016, I followed the second love of my life, dogs. This led me to start my journey creating Petsercise and offering the adventure, excitement, stimulation and core exercise needed for dogs to lead a healthier, happier life. Fast forward and Petsercise now have a strong, dedicated team who truly love what they do. We have an unswerving passion for delivering the very best service to you and your four-legged family. We now operate from our own 2 sites, spanning 14-acres, with an all-weather, flood-lit sand arena and enclosed paddocks and pools. We offer a whole host of services, from grooming, to training, walking, luxury home boarding and Dog Agility. We have been recognised as the leading Dog Trainer in the North of England; winning Dog Trainer of the Year 2020. We always encourage our clients to get to know one another and many have formed friendships (dogs and owners too!) and spend time together. We are also heavily involved with canine charities and strongly support the rescue and rehome of all animals. We now work in affiliation with Newcastle Cat and Dog Shelter and closely link with their staff, dogs and prospective owners to support the safe and effective rehoming of dogs across the North East. We offer our services “all under one roof”, meaning that from the moment our clients sign up with us, their pets Petsercise Profile is created, and our multidisciplinary team get to know, learn and develop each dog. Dog and owner clients of Petsercise are a real part of the family, and clients know that staff know the dogs well, the dogs know the staff and the centres and are relaxed, and that services therefore are offered seamlessly without need for clients to re-register or search for other companies, or step into the unknown with their dog. We pride ourselves on never turning a dog away, and have rehabilitated countless dogs, as well as successfully training dogs who were on the verge of being euthanized as a result off their behavior. We are fully committed to enabling dogs and their owners to find happiness and fulfillment together, and strive to deliver this at all costs. Our services: • Grooming and teeth cleaning We believe a groom shouldn’t be just a rushed “in-and-out” job, but a loving process where time and care is taken, and the dog fully enjoys the process – a real pamper. Our unique Petsercise set-up delivers just this, keeping flexibility at the heart of our work to ensure that no matter the dog, no one has to have a bad hair day! Our state-of-the-art grooming Grooming Pod is designed for the most comfortable stay, with a relaxed vibe and sparkling facilities to their makeover. With years of experience on professional cuts, and having previously delivered styling and grooms in a leading salon before joining our gang, our groomer is certain to give your pooch that head-turner cut. We offer a pickup and drop off service allowing you ultimate flexibility. A chauffer ride to and from their groom, in our fully ventilated comfy crates. On arrival, after a toilet break, they can settle into their designated pen space (no crates here!) with the comfort and space to relax. We have a secure zone for dogs to sniff and walk with the groomer, allowing the time and space for a smooth transition, and keeping them at ease. With a fully qualified canine trainer on site, we can cater for the most nervous dogs, and work together with clients who are wanting to improve their dog’s behaviour at the groomers. Ideal for all breeds and ages, and with flexibility for owners, this less stressful process gives the best experience for you and your pooch. There’s no need to take the day off work or cancel plans, as we offer a fully insured, secure service allowing the option for you to return from your day out to a trimmed, pristine pooch! • Training and Rehabilitation Can’t teach an old dog new tricks?... Whether it’s puppy foundations, impulse control, basic skills or problems with management and behaviour you’re after, we can help. We use Force-free methods and use the latest research and theory behind practical training methods, as well as being IMDT certified. Our approach optimises your dog-ownership, giving you and your family the opportunity to learn and practice your skills in a safe, secure and judgement-free environment. We strive to offer the highest standards possible, and always bring a realistic, inspiring and unique perspective to dog training. We keep things fun and practical, and tailor our approaches to each individual and their dog. With both dog and owner together, we will help you relax and give you the skills and confidence in what you are doing. Covering all ages and breeds, we guide owners and their dogs in the development of their dog’s behaviour, optimising your dog’s potential and enabling you to be the best owner you can be. If you’re looking for some intensive one-to-one work, we offer hands on training and support for all problems and issues, no matter how big or small. Rehabilitation ranges from regenerating muscle and co-ordination skills, managing and resolving separation anxiety, targeting and resolving aggression in dogs, as well as the development of socialisation, and much more. Petsercise have developed a programme which provides the foundational tools and opportunities to give your puppy the confidence, control and social skills to be well rounded and happy, and for you to be equipped, educated and prepared as an owner. • Day-Care Petsercise Day-Care is the perfect place for your dog to spend the day whilst you’re busy at work. With a friendly, sociable atmosphere and stacks for them to do, you’ll be guilt-free knowing that they’ll be playing, sleeping and playing some more with their Petsercise pals. Our day-care is totally secure and secluded, so your dog can be off-lead all day. They will spend the day running in the meadow, splashing in pools, playing in the tyres and sandpits, dozing in the shade or in the cosy Cottage. With 6 acres to explore, they’ll be bound to have a blast! We have a range of ages, shapes, and sizes and we always make sure to match activities to our dog’s needs. We operate with small bespoke groups for play time keeping the numbers safe and fun and allowing the freedom for you pooch to be themselves. • Agility If you’re looking to take your dog’s bond to the next level, give us a shout and try your hand at our agility! Everyone is welcome, no matter the experience, age or fitness. Our secure, all-weather, private facilities, and our specialist trainer will help you harness your skills. Whether its 121 sessions or classes, our affordable sessions can help you build confidence with your dog and gain some truly unique skills. Perfect for even the most nervous and problematic dogs to gain skills, confidence, excitement and enrichment. Agility classes are a great way to meet others, make friends (dogs and human!), and enjoy yourself with your dog in a friendly, encouraging and non-judgmental environment. Sessions and classes are adjusted for all levels, with controlled numbers and fantastic facilities; whether you’re a complete novice, or a seasoned professional, you’re welcome here. Before joining a group session, all dogs must attend a 121 pre-group assessment or 121 training session. If your dog is unsuitable for groups straight away, we can work towards this with 121 sessions until you’re both ready to join a group. • Pack Adventures Our aim is to make dog walking more than just a walk, and stand out from the crowd with innovative new ideas. Our stimulating pack adventures offer fun, socialization, and exercise for your pooch. Our fleet of vans are kitted with bespoke crates for optimum space and security, and our Petsercise Team are full of knowledge and adventure. Protocols, management and operating are unique to Petsercise, and ensure optimal security, safety and control. Our pack adventures run from private fields, with ponds, pools, woodland and lots of open space, all within a secure boundary with no access to the general public. So, whether you’re tied up at work, or looking to socialize and exercise your dog, this is the place to be. • Over-night Home Boarding Petsercise DEFRA 5* Rated, fully licensed and Ofqual Regulated Level 3 Professional Day Care and Boarding offers luxury stays for our members. Each guest has their very own fitted room, sofa and bed, in room entertainment and home comforts, as well as a window view to the rural surroundings. Our luxury home boarding offers a holiday for your four-legged friend, in our purpose-designed suites. Of course, you know your dog best, so stays are bespoke and tailored to the wishes of you and your pooch; you tell us their daily routine and we'll do the rest. From the buzz of joining a pack adventure with the gang, or exploring our 6-acres of grass, woodland and all-weather sand-arena, to their cozy time snuggled up on the sofa. They might not want to come home. • Newcastle Cat and Dog Shelter Affiliation Our motto, through and through has been that Loved Pets Love Life, and for few does this speak more truly than the resident (and ex-resident) dogs of Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter. Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter was established in 1896, and has helped hundreds of thousands of lost, unwanted, neglected, abused and abandoned animals. Their objective is the promotion of kindness and prevention of cruelty to animals, and Petsercise wholly support their initiative. Cleo was rescued in 2014 from Newcastle Cat & Dog Shelter after a very long stay, over two years. She had a troubled past and was incredibly anxious, but we were determined to give her a fresh start. At that time Petsercise was unfounded, but it was Cleo that planted its seed, and Cleo that was pivotal in so much of its growth. You can see Cleo in our 'Black Dog' logo; on every Petsercise van and on every team member chest. The logo represents the importance of freedom, growth and love in our dogs. The positive transformation in her health, behavior and psychological well-being over time was incredible. It's something that we absolutely stand for as a company, and a value we inject into all we do. Years on we maintain this ethos, and are proud to work in affiliation with Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter to support their dogs, staff, and owners. “A Dog makes a house a home”, if you’re here then perhaps you know that well, but what about a dog who’s never had a stable home? Or one who has a few hurdles to manage before they feel “at home”? What about those owners who adopt a rescue dog with all the best intentions and then feel overwhelmed at where to progress and what to do for the best? Lauren, our Head Trainer supports Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter closely, and plays a vital part in the assessment, rehabilitation planning, and training of dogs during their time at the shelter. Lauren trains and mentors the shelter staff, educating them to progress their canine behavior skills, and enabling them to better manage the dogs, and ensure rehabilitation is optimal. Lauren is pivotal in compiling training programmes and rehabilitation goals for the dogs and empowering the shelter staff to develop their own skills and understanding. But it doesn’t stop there… We strive to develop ongoing education, programmes and partnerships with new rescue dog owners to continue the dogs’ development into their new home and beyond. We are dedicated to limit, wherever possible, dogs being unsuccessfully rehomed, and we have the philosophy, facilities and expertise to make that an absolute reality.
