Always are welcome and very accommodating. They make such a fuss of our boy Reggie

There is a real difference between hotels who accept dogs and dog friendly hotels. We have visited the 3 Crowns twice and taken our dog each time, they accept that you have been out walking on the moor and understand if your dogs are dirty, dog friendly rooms are superb and the staff always make a fuss of the dogs!! Absolutely excellent!! Our dog loves it as much as we do!!
Dean Lagdon, November 2022
Always a welcoming smile or pat on the back, from all of the staff!
Michele Beesley, October 2022
By far the most relaxed dog friendly place we have stayed. No compromise with accommodation, rooms are lovely and dogs really welcomed
Andy Rixon, September 2022
Always very friendly and welcoming to dogs. It's very rare that there isn't a dog in the bar.
Celeste Hamilton, September 2022
Fantastic dog friendly accommodation.
Martyn Pattison, August 2022
We've stayed at the Three Crowns a couple of times with out cockapoo and found everyone very welcoming and taking a dog there a very easy experience. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Three Crowns and will stay there again the next time I'm in Chagford.
Lauren Anderson, August 2022
Loved seeing the dogs in the Three Crowns!
Emma Taylor, August 2022
We stayed there with our lurcher Dennys quite a few times and all the staff were lovely, there is plenty of space and it was easy to get from the rooms to the courtyard and parking. We have since lost Dennys and re-homed Nigel who we have popped in with for a drink and will be bringing him with us to stay this winter,
Helen Mole, August 2022

Not just dog tolerant as some places turn out to sadly be. Definitely Dog friendly have been 3-4 times over the last couple of years and can’t wait to return v soon. Would recommend
Chris Roberts, August 2022
The Three Crowns is an exception establishment who make as much of the dogs as they do their owners. A brilliant setting for a relaxing break with the added beauty of taking man’s best out dog. Brilliant staff and facilities, can’t wait to visit again in Feb 23🐶😎👍

We have returned to The Three Crowns twice now. I am sure that we will stay many more times in the future, too.
We wouldn't be going there if we weren't delighted.

Rosie Harris, August 2022
They made a huge fuss of our little dog and really made her feel very welcome. The room was dog friendly, as was the bar for drinks and food. The staff brought her lots of biscuits and water and overall they made a great impression as a dog friendly venue.
Maxine Wade, August 2022
The Three Crowns is an excellent hotel. Staff are efficient, friendly and very helpful. They are also very dog friendly in as much as they are allowed in some bedrooms, a special room where they can join us for breakfast and also allowed in the bar for evening dinner. I cannot praise this hotel enough. We have stayed in many "dog friendly" hotels but this is really DOG FRIENDLY. They even gave our lovely labrador some doggy treats.

Lillie our Belgian Shepherd has been made a fuss of every time we stay and the layout of the cosy bar and rooms works perfectly. Add great hosts and we always enjoy our stays .
Felicity Barnard, August 2022
Great service! Plenty of dog friendly areas and fab rooms which allow dogs. It is great because they open onto the courtyard - perfect for puppy mindn8ght trips to the loo!!
The staff were all really friendly with our nervous pooch and there were plenty of treats and water available at all times!
Joss Wilson, August 2022
We live in Chagford and our dog literally drags us in to The Three Crowns even when we weren’t planning on going in!! He loves all the staff, the attention and the treats of course. He’s dried off and warmed up many a time by the fire and it’s perfect that we can take him with us because we love it too!!
Sally Wallington, August 2022
They always make a fuss of our cocker spaniels and they are spoilt with treats, water and lots of fuss. They don’t just ‘accept’ dogs, they thoroughly spoil them which is why we always go there when we visit Dartmoor.
Andrew Longville, August 2022

We have had several lovely stays at the three crowns. They went above and beyond at our last stay when we recently adopted a fearful rescue dog.
They saved us a quiet table in the corner where our nervous dog could feel safe. It was so appreciated.
They really deserve to win!
Jane Andrews, August 2022

Dick Mills, August 2022
Have stayed here many times with our dogs over the years, the staff & facilities are always accommodating whether we had our St Bernard, Lab or Pugs. There just aren’t that many places as nice as the Three Crowns that readily accept dogs, which always makes for an enjoyable, relaxing holiday. The staff, the food, drink & location are all great to boot, all in a picture perfect thatched pub. What more could you ask for!

We were walking The Dartmoor Way, a total of 106 miles circular walk..
One of the best walks I’ve done. (Purple way markers)
We needed a dog friendly hotel & this was fantastic.
Great room on ground floor. For easy access to let dog out.
Eat in the restaurant / bar area - nice not to have to leave dog in room. & go & find somewhere to eat.Plus delicious
food - knowledgable staff

Dec 27 2021 - family gathering after death. Our reserved table for 7 was in the restaurant, but when they saw my sister’s labrador they asked if we would like a private room in the delightful library. Staff were massively attentive to the dog! Excellent!

We stayed here in 2021. Our booking included our two elderly greyhounds and the accommodation was chosen on the basis of the very positive “doggy” reviews. Sadly, our two oldies both passed away within weeks of their holiday and we stayed at the Three Crowns as a “childless” couple. However, we observed other dogs and their human charges in and around the hotel and this is definitely a place we will return to in the future with our new boy, Cecil. The staff were seen to be totally switched on to doggy needs as well as doing a great job of looking after the not so fluffy guests.

We've stayed here twice now, and not only is it an amazing place to stay, with fantastic food and service, but they are extremely dog friendly too. Having a nice meal or breakfast near the fireplace in bar are in the winter after a day out walking is just amazing. Doggie biscuits and plenty of strokes are offered too. The Three Crowns is in the charming small town of Chagford surrounded by beautiful countryside and perfect for lovely walks with our furry friends. If we don't book our next winter break here soon, I expect to come home and find our dog on the laptop making his own reservation! The Three Crowns certainly deserves to win, hands and paws down.
