We are a dog boarding household so caring for dogs is our life. The Maltings caters amazingly for dogs and dog owners from water bowls,mats ,treats and even doggo Sunday lunches! You can tell all the staff love dogs and the atmosphere is always wonderful with lots of wagging tails!

As dogs are part of our family, it's only fair that there is a space for them in public areas when celebrating special family events!
We lost our Collie Ben in April but the Maltings has continued to give me a very therapeutic place to be around other dogs.

Lovely pub with parking, a beer garden and above all it's love of dogs. They offer free treats and lovely towels if our dogs are wet.
They also have a doggy menu offering a variety of meals for our furry friends.

Visited here with a group of chihuahuas for 2 dogs 1st birthday. They gave us an area on our own. The dog meals absolutely fabulous the dogs loved them. The staff were lovely and friendly the area had dog beds down and we had a great time. The food for the humans my lamb roast was amazing. This venue really makes you andnthe dogs feel welcome and the d9gs would have stayed there happily all day and night. There's a dog station with water and they have dog treats on the bar also. Staff actually acknowledge the dogs which is nice.

They are not only the best dog friendly pub in the northwest but I think they are the best in the country. From organised weekly dog walks to dogs dinners , dog treats, dog of the month award. Also pretty decent grub for the humans too. I visit as often as I can and I live nearly an hour away. I'm pretty sure that if dogs could vote they'd vote for the Maltings too. 👏🐾

Such a good dog friendly venue, my dog pulls me here after a walk by the canal. Specific doggy menu, treat and water on tap. Staff love greeting the dogs. Just an overall charming place to visit with your four legged friends.

They have the most facilities to make dogs and their owners welcome. They make such an effort with everything dog related, from their own menu etc to dog of the week on their social media.
I’ve never ever seen a pub that does afternoon teas for dogs until I had visited the Maltings. All served on a proper cake stand!

Whilst I don’t own a dog, I have visited the Maltings many times and am always impressed with not only the number of dogs inside, but how well behaved and relaxed the dogs are, a relaxed dog is a happy dog ! But along with this there is a great atmosphere, friendly staff and amazing home cooked food. Top pub, top people.

By far the best ever truly dog friendly pub I’ve ever come across. They have special menus for dogs, everything they would need during their visit and more than anything the staff truly fuss and enjoy all the dogs that come in. With pictures on the walls, twice-weekly dog walks as well as special occasions like Birthday‘s, Halloween and Christmas catered for, I can’t think of anywhere else we’d want to take our Barney!

This is our first time at the pub I searched it on Google as wanted to go to a dog friendly pub and take our dog Bear with us. I went t with my hubby and Son. Honestly I was blown away he had his own bowl, doggy bed, treats and there were dog toys and sticks too.The dog menu was fantastic he had a small dogs dinner which he loved. The staff were lovely food was great to it was such a relaxed atmosphere and 100% the best ever pub for dogs !! We will be back

Always a lovely atmosphere inside the Maltings. Recently brought my cousins dog for the quiz night and although we didn’t win, we all loved being able to have a furry companion. There’s enough dog bowls, water refill stations and beds for an army, not to mention the abundance of dog biscuits available for after the 3 course meal and dog safe beer available.

I go to the maltings coffee morning on a Thursday. I have met some lovely people. But, what really makes me smile is the varied dog breeds that go. They really cheer me up. They even have a stick library for the dogs and they are all very sociable and well behaved. A lovely atmosphere too.

The maltings has got to be the best dog friendly pub! It has a lovely walk near by and the staff give the 5 star customer treatment to the dogs too! There is a dog menu that also includes a doggy afternoon tea! Where else does that? It’s nice to be able to walk into a pub with your dog and not worry about where you can sit (because the whole place is dog friendly not just a small section) and not worrying about there being people who don’t like dogs - highly recommend

I love dogs but don't own one due to person circumstances. so it's lovely going to eat where dogs are welcome and owners are encouraged to bring them. My grandaughter used to be scared but taking her to the maltings in such a calm atmosphere has made her love going round to the dogs
The staff really go out of their way especially to accomodate those who are walking, with bowls of water and dog biscuits on hand. Having the dogs around brings people together, and 'dog therapy' makes amny lonely people smile x

This place is about community! Dogs bring our community together! When the dogs are happy the owners are happy. My dog poppy doesn’t enjoy a lot of restaurants/ pubs but she settles and enjoys visiting The Maltings.

We love the fact that there is a dog bar, dog menu, blankets, towels and bowls. The staff love the dogs and are friendly and welcoming to everyone. We visited the maltings few times to join other dog walkers for a nice walk around the park.(which was organised by the maltings staff) Everyone's very nice and welcoming, you can have a nice walk, with great company And afterwards you can stop at the maltings for lunch or refreshments , including doggie meal for our doggies which they loved. It's a great place to visit with your family and dogs... I wish that we were living more local so we could visit more often.

Dogs are allowed anywhere in the pub. Nice outdoor seating too, which is sheltered. Water bowls and dog treats available for dogs. Dog walks twice a week. Usually have doggie dinners and dog beds but not at the moment due to covid 19. Friendly staff who welcome dogs who visit. Best dog friendly pub in the area.

The maltings is wonderful, great food, great place, friendly staff. Even have doggy roast dinners for the furry members of the family. The staff always make a fuss of the dog and my dog even loves going watching the footy in there with his human daddy.

My dog loves this pub, he loves the fuss and attention he gets from the staff. The doggy dinners are his favourite thing, he especially likes sitting in a certain part of the pub where he has direct view of the kitchen door so he can wait for his food to come out.

I love the maltings. It's a great place for dog lovers. You walk in and instantly feel fully accepted. They offer dog beds, balls, water, towels and have even got a dog shower incase your pup has decided to have a mud bath before entering. I've been to so many dog friendly pubs where you are segregated and not made to feel properly welcome. But the maltings really breaks these barriers whilst still maintaining extremely high hygene standards. And not to forget the doggie dinners and dog biscuits they also have on offer. !!

Always made to feel welcome with dogs all shapes and size. They hold regular dog walks with free tea and coffee for the attendees (before covid anyway) treats and fresh water provide, they even have a wash station and towels for after muddy walk. Love the place

Not only is the food and welcome brilliant, but when my dog was injured by broken glass nearby they went out and cleaned up all the glass, even though it was not on their property, to protect other dogs. They go above and beyond for their community and customers.

Great place good food, very dog friendly all dogs are made welcome, they do two brilliant dog walks a week, we have a rescue dog called Louie he has some issues but he has been made very welcome by the maltings team, this pub needs to be recognised for all there good work
