We absolutely love this pub, as does our dog, Moss! It’s one of his favourite places and he always speeds up when he realises there could be a chance we are bound for the Lion. The treats are great and the staff genuinely love dogs. The outdoor space is great. Everything a dog owner and their dog ever needs!

Well, I'm currently sat here with my two large dogs in the pub that I find at times hard to take them to pubs due to people finding them scary. Not the case here. Everyone was so lovely and friendly to the dogs. Thankyou guys. It's hard having bully breeds so thankyou for showing us love.

I love taking the mother in laws dog Humbug to the Lion. Tram stop on the doorstep near enough. Warm welcome from staff and other dog owners, free fresh water & treats always available. Doggy ice cream available to buy which he enjoys on hot days sitting in the garden. Emergency poop bags also available in case I forget to bring them!

The Lion is the perfect place to take my dog Jake when we go out for a drink. There is always fresh water and snacks available and the staff are always very helpful and take time with Jake no matter how busy they are. I would definitely recommend visiting the Lion to anyone.

Not only is it a great pub with a fantastic selection of beers, but the big well-maintained beer garden is a great place to relax with a pooch. Or if it’s rainy they’re welcome indoors. Staff are super friendly and some even bring in their own dogs. Treats and water bowls are available free of charge. I love to go for a pint and to meet all the wonderful dogs of Basford and the surrounding area!

There are lots of customers who love to meet our 4 legged friends . The Pub Dog' Albie, is well known and loved, with his soulful eyes! There are always doggy treats and water bowls, which is important for our furry friends. Many dogs enjoy the large garden and like to find a sunny spot. others like to observe the happenings in the pub. Dogs just love coming here with their owners! 🐶

In general it is a wonderful pub with a great decking area and garden for the dog.
They always cater for the dogs with water and treats without being asked.
The pace in which my dog consumes the treats suggests they are incredibly tasty.
They don’t mind the dog sitting on the seat with you either which is always good as ours likes to be at eye level checking out what we’re drinking.

I come to this pub regularly with my whippet. She is always greeted with so much love, she loves coming here. There are always treats available and water and blankets! All the staff remember the dogs names and always make a big fuss.
Everyone here either has a dog or loves dogs, it's a very friendly environment and when the fire is on in the winter the dogs love to relax together.

Without doubt the friendliest, chilled, most dog friendly pub I know.
The team really care, are lovely peeps and give a lovely warm welcome and genuinely great customer service.
There are lovely outside spaces and a choice of comfy indoor areas.
Many a great time has been had here and I can't recommend it highly enough, also, it has the very best doggos.

We always get a warm welcome from staff, the mother in laws dog Humbug gets total fuss which he loves. Large garden with fresh drinking bowls, free dog treats & a free supply of poop bags incase I forget! I can enjoy a drink & a bite to eat knowing Humbug is as welcome as what I am. He likes socialising and meeting new canine friends too!

Having justifiable won an award for the last two years running, the landlady and staff continue to make the pub accessible and fun to four legged visitors, with dog beds, toys, treats on tap, doggo Sunday dinners, a huge garden and water bowls everywhere. Dogs are not restricted to a particular area as long as they are well behaved or on lead.
