Great proper pub. No airs, no graces just wonderful real ale and cider, friendly people and of course dogs! Since they don't serve food they even let you bring your take away in with you whilst you sup away and talk nonsense. Splendid!

Always felt very welcome here with our elderly dog. Water on tap and fireside cushions. Lovely place to chill with pet and a great pint.

We lived local to The dog House and frequented on a regular basis where Basil (cockapoo) was made to feel like a member of the family, so much so, when we went for a walk Basil always stopped at the doorstop of The Dog House even when it was closed.

There are not many pubs that dogs strain on their lead desperate to go into. The Dog House MicroPub in Coleford was closed for a long time during the pandemic, yet my dog, Molly, would routinely pull me in the direction of this fantastic little friendly real ale pub. It seems she never forgot the warm doggie welcome she always got from both resident pub dogs Jazz and Dizzy and her human friends that would often give her cuddles and treats. The name of the pub says it all.. the Dog House (well behaved humans also welcome). Jazz and Dizzy even appear on the hanging pub sign! This amazing little pub even organises dog friendly walking trails, when owners can accompany their pets to a few Forest of Dean pubs... and guide them back safely. What better place than being put in the dog house with your loveable pet.

Absolutely amazing place. Both customers and dogs treated alike. Beers for customers and beds and treats for dogs. Even a cosy log fire in the winter where they can sleep all evening. Friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere for all.
