Dogs are always welcome, owners of the Pub are all dog lovers. There is always fresh water and biscuits available. Plenty of space for them and the Pub is located just off a very nice walk.

I'm not a dog owner but I love seeing so many breeds of dogs chilling at the Calder Vale. It's obvious that the dogs are enjoying an enhanced social life at the CV, as they meet up with their doggie friends. It's a joy to watch lots of tail wagging, mutual sniffing and friendly barking going on as their owners sup their pints!

The Calder Vale is perfect for dogs. The owners are so friendly and love to fuss the dogs and chat about them. Treats are on the bar and the beer garden is lovely for dogs to lay on the grass or sniff the flowers. Couldn't speak highly enough of The Calder Vale.

We take our rescue dog "Mariska" for walks by the river nearby regularly, then polish it off with a visit to the Calder vale, such a dog friendly pub, big safe garden , we love the relaxing atmosphere with all the other dogs and their owners, top treats for the poochs and ace beer and hospitality for their owners! Just perfect.

Our red setters love to visit here, very chilled with good walks nearby. The owners make a big fuss of all dogs that visit. Treats on the bar, water in bowls and a fantastic outside beer garden to enjoy their home brewed beer

Dog friendly. Does what it says on the tin! Our pups favourite watering hole. Difficult to drag her past on morning walks when it’s not open.

When on the lead, my vizsla walks very well to heel but if we find ourselves in The Calder Vale vicinity she will pull and pull until she’s over the pub’s threshold... as delicious as their Luddite milk stout is, I’m pretty sure she’s not popping in for a swift pint.
All the staff are very warm and welcoming towards their four-legged customers. There’s always plenty of treats, water bowls on hand and sometimes even the odd cushion to settle on! A refreshment break at the Hop Garden is essential when out on a pooch mooch down the river/canal in the warmer months.

This is a very furry friend friendly venue. Can be the end to a lovely walk. Dogs are very welcome inside and out .

The Calder Vale Pub really welcomes dogs making it our go to place. They often have great live music and food pop ups too

Dogs are more than welcome, indeed owners are positively encouraged to bring dogs in. There is always a treat box on the bar and fresh water is easily available. There is a big garden and there are excellent walks along the river and canal within a short distance.

Always a warm welcome for dogs and owners, both inside and out in the beautiful Hop garden. Dog treats are readily available on the bar for all the furry friends with log burners for them to sprawl out in front of on more chilly days and evenings.

They are the most dog friendliest pub I think I've ever been in. It has such a great atmosphere and we've spent many happy hours watching our little pup running around the beer garden and begging for treats at the bar!

They literally love all dogs big and small and know the regulars by name!

We’ve had our pooch for 2 years and this is by far the most dog friendly pub. Fab outside space during the summer months and a warm welcome for dogs of all sizes throughout the year. Their own real ale isn’t half bad too!! Both you and your furry friend are sure to have a relaxing time.

The Calder Vale is by far the dog friendliest pub in this area, making your pooch feel part of your outing, just as it should be! Your furry friends can laze in the shade of the Hop Garden during the hotter months, or cool off on the stone flagged floor inside. While you enjoy your pint of Luddite ale, there’s always a bowl of water around or a treat for your pet to enjoy too. As the days and nights are drawing in, plenty of room for your dog (and you) to stretch out in front of one of the cosy log burners, drying off after a winter’s walk. Beautiful pub with lots of character, a dog loving staff team, one that really cares about your pooches.

It's a lovely local pub {I live around the corner} who make everyone welcome including 4 legged guests. They have treats on the bar & bowls of water always accessible. We were looking after a friends dog & took him there.
