We have stayed at the Riverside cottage with our then two dogs. It turned out that it was the last week of our dear little Pomeranian's life as she had to leave us (PTS) the following week. The time we spent there will therefore always stay in our hearts and we will always have wonderful memories of our tie at Letheringham Mill Cottages.

A beautiful place to stay, very dog friendly. The accommodation is spotlessly clean, everything in the house that you could need. The grounds are lovely, a dog walking/running paddock too. The stream is full of wildlife and the sunsets are spectacular, weather allowing. Jacqui and the dogs provide a very warm welcome and are around to offer advice on places to visit if you feel a little lost. So many fabulous places to visit on days out. Closer to home a very pretty village and good dog friendly pub. I can’t fault any of the accommodation in this peaceful little haven. We hope to return next year with our two Cockers, Daisy and Flora.

Genuinely dog friendly- our dogs are always made very welcome. They can wander around the grounds and enjoy the stunning and relaxing atmosphere as much as us humans do. There are always lovely doggy treats, dog bowls, dog beds and very soft blankets. I have to say the beds for humans are also super comfy.

We have stayed here several times initially with 3 dogs and now unfortunately with just 1 naughty but nice 4 year old miniature schnauzer who just loves it soo much. All the cottages are superb and very comfortable for humans as well as dogs. The grounds are lovely and brilliant for exploring. Jacqui is a very helpful and welcoming hostess and we can't wait to stay there again.

Jacqui goes above and beyond in hosting guests and their canine companions. With four springers, I have done a lot of research into places that might welcome us, and we have stayed in a number of lodgings. I can honestly say that no one has given us more of a welcome, and I can't imagine any place deserving the award more!

Over many years we've come back again and again for the beauty, the calm, and the warmest welcome for all of us.
It ticks all the boxes for all of us, and at those times when for travel reasons we've had to settle for another place we've missed Leatheringham all the more.
If you really love your dog/s, you owe it to them, and to yourself, to try this place. Thereafter, you will accept nothing less.

This accommodation is unique. Our dogs can roam freely in the vast walking areas and our labradoodle Ruby is a bit partial to Ted. Our springer Maggie can spring around without bothering anyone and loves Lola and Amber. Jacqui really is the dream host; she can't do enough to make you feel relaxed. She really puts everything into the thoughtful touches to make everything easier. Would recommend this for dog people- there's nowhere like it!!!

We have stayed numerous times with family and friends and although a number of years have passed since our first visit, the quality of the accommodations remains excellent, together with the welcoming doggy treats, blankets etc etc and of course the properties sit in lovely surroundings enabling dogs to free range.

We love the place. Fantastic grounds for us and our dog to walk, surrounded by the river. We watch the swans and their signets growing up. The accommodation is top class, every thing you could need. Letheringham Mill Cottages is the most perfect place for adults and their dogs. The grounds are stunning and the dogs have so much freedom to explore in a safe and secure environment. Without doubt the most idyllic place in a stunning Suffolk countryside offering perfect walks for dogs. The 5 star accommodation is absolutely beautiful, spotlessly clean, calming and relaxing with practical facilities for dogs.

Not only are the cottages luxuriously appointed and the surroundings idyllic but it is the most super dog friendly holiday home we have ever come across. No nonsense rules and instructions like “dogs not allowed in the bedrooms or on the furniture”. They are treated as if they are in their own home. Every need of the dog parents and the dogs themselves is catered for. Our dog gets very excited every time he realises where he is even we arrive - and treats it like home from home and chills out straight away. Last week was our 6th visit and we cannot wait to go back.

What a lovely find. This really is a dog friendly cottage. We stayed in The Woodshed. There was two of us and two dogs. The accommodation was first class and everything and I mean everything is on hand, a real home from home. For our fur babies, the grounds are safe and extensive. The grounds are completely secure so there are no worries and the dogs thoroughly enjoyed running around with other dogs all week.Would recommend 100% and we will be back. Thanks for a lovely week.

Jacqui was so welcoming and made us feel instantly at home. The grounds and cottages are immaculately kept and brilliantly thought out and the pups are free to roam. We love coming here with our Staffy Max who loves to wander around to every other "cottage" and make friends with humans and dogs. It is the most dog-friendly place we have ever stayed in and so luxurious too. The gardens and woods are lovely - it is joy to walk around with Max in tow sniffing at everything he can find. And sitting by the stream watching the cows ambling along across the fields in the evening, after a day out, chilling with a glass of wine before dinner is so perfectly relaxing and a wonder end to the day. We have been three times and will no doubt be returning in 2023.

These cottages are just the most perfect cottages I have ever stayed in!! To find such luxury in a dog friendly place is very rare indeed. Both dogs and their humans are treated the same; the best and most comfortable beds, bedding and towels, dog and human treats, wine and water every need is catered for! The acres of grounds are a joy to roam and nowhere is out of bounds. New for this year are the fabulous black grills and fire pits dotted in and around the island meadow. All have kit with them to light a fire and keep it going with kindling and logs. I stayed at the riverside cottage for a week in May 2021 with my Labrador and beagle- Shar pei cross . My older dog is 10 , and we have been to many holiday cottages in the U.K. over the years … . Letheringham cottages are so luxurious , comfortable and dog friendly …. and we had a wonderful time . We have stayed at many self catering premises over the last 15 years and nearly all accepted dogs reasonably happily but Letheringham Water Mill welcomes dogs with open arms,doors, etc. It is superb and totally friendly and accepting of all dogs. We have stayed here many times now and have stayed in all of the cottages.
We love it as it has all you could need in a break away.
The cottages are all of a very high quality, there’s amazing scenery and it’s all very dog friendly.
Despite other guests being in the other cottages, you still feel you’re the only ones there...it’s very private.
There are so many things to see. Many farm animals around and the swans swim past every day.
Our dogs love it and love going for walks there. It feels like they’re getting a good holiday too.
A big bonus is that they don’t charge you extra for taking your dogs as many others do and genuinely love having you and your dog/s sharing with them.
We always go home feeling relaxed after an enjoyable stay.
