I have voted for Bliss Cafe because of its welcoming atmosphere to not only the dogs but to their owners also which is reflected in their menu. Catering for all diets means that the whole family can eat together.

Bliss cafe in Thirsk super dog friendly, the dogs get a little bowl of chopped up sausage when you sit down before your even asked for your food or drink order. staff are really friendly food and drinks are delicious this is about our 4th visit to Bliss cafe and is our 1st port of call when in Thirsk a great place highly recommended. Millie loves the chopped sausages. it isn't the biggest interior with about 6 or 7 tables in total and there have always been at least 2 or 3 dogs in there when we have visited so it is possible that you and your dog could be in very close proximity to other dogs. if your dog requires a little more space the staff are very accommodating and if possible will try to seat you in a corner seating area.

The dogs are greeted on arrival with sausage, even before the owners are served! Great service for the humans and dogs alike!

The young lady who served us yesterday was so friendly and attentive , she ensured out poppy had a bowl of sausage pieces , and poppy loved that. Five stars is not enough....

Approximately a six minute walk from the Herriot Museum in the heart of Thirsk, North Yorkshire you will find Bliss Cafe with a pay and display car park just across the road.

Dogs are not allowed inside the museum so the cafe is the perfect place to visit with your pooch for a very good cuppa with a selection of many cakes and scones while others in your party can enjoy the history of James Herriot.

An all day breakfast is on offer here with all the usual choices of components and a cooked sausage is provided for all four legged companions.

Delicious-sounding sandwiches and a good range of vegan and vegetarian options are also on the menu.

There is always a cheery welcome as you enter the nicely laid out cafe with lower coffee tables set between comfy leather sofas as well as higher dining tables and chairs for those with a furry friend who might be too tempted by the delights on a low table! We usually opt for a dining table so that Poppy’s tail doesn’t create a disaster at coffee table level on our visits.

Poached eggs on a toasted crumpet with smoked salmon is a particular favourite of mine and I will often take away a beautifully wrapped scone with jam and cream for later.

More substantial meals are prepared in no time at all and a daily specials board tempts you to further indulge.

The helpful and friendly staff are very accommodating, giving the impression that nothing is too much trouble and seem genuinely pleased to welcome dogs, unlike some establishments which claim to be dog-friendly but could be better described as “dog-tolerant”.

We have found the overall experience to be consistent at Bliss Cafe and this guarantees our custom in the future.
