Your dog is a valued guest in the hotel and can even take his when you dine in the hotel. They provide everything you need with towels to clean them up dog treats etc etc

It's fabulous to be understood that your dog is as much a family member as your granny or child. The Auchrannuw totally get this and very little limits are placed on having a happy stay with pooch. It's appreciated and therfore good doggy manners reciprocated

This is the most dog friendly hotel i have visited. nothing too much trouble for staff and I cannot recommend them enough. I have stayed with 2 dogs on many occasions and they are consistent in their desire to make your stay the best it can be.

We go over to Arran every year and its the most dof friendly place we have ever stayed on a holiday. In our lodge there are treats, towels for the dogs and they even have special dining are in the restuaramts where the dogs can accompany their owners.

I seldom write reviews but I thought this might be useful for some doggy minded folk.

We have been visiting Auchrannie Resort for years even before we had dogs. It is just a fabulous get away from it all place on an island so it feels like travelling abroad but the phone still works and you don't have to change the money. They all speak the Queens English as if it was their first language.

Anyway eventually we decided to purchase one of their lodges which are in the grounds of the hotel and where we can use all of the ameneties. Nope we are not rich but with some money left by my mum decided to get something everlasting to remind her by and she would have loved the place. One of our key purchasing requirements was a dog friendly place which we knew it was through out recurring previous visits.

So we now have our own dog friendly lodge for Hugo and Ralph (Show Cockers) which also sleeps up to 8 people (three double bedrooms and a fold down settee thing in the livingroom). We go every year for one week and have a whale of a time with the dogs visiting beaches, long walks, climbing hills, going to the pub etc. The whole island of Arran is dog friendly and there are few places (even restuarants) where they are not welcomed and specifically catered for. The dogs know where they are when they get there and seek their friends from other lodges (since they go at the same time every year as well) and know where to take us for their favourite walks. The lodges in particular are a stones throw from a country path where dogs can get off the lead and run around. Fortunately our own lodge is adjacent to the path and sometimes the dogs take themselves off for a wander, but hey! it is a safe environment for them with no traffic to worry about. There is even a burn next to the path with access where the dogs can get in and splash about (which is really handy on very muddy walk days). Wherever we go on Arran we take the dogs, and they have a great time. There are too many beaches, forest walks, hill walks to mention, and there are a couple of distilleries.

The Auchrannie Hotel has rooms and lodges which take dogs, Hugo and Ralph would thoroughly recommend it to doggy friends out there. To get there is an inexpensive ferry journey even if you take the car which is advisable to get around the island (you don't have to since the hotel transport will pick you up), the hotel has fabulous amenities and people working there are really friendly.
