Located right in the heart of the Elan Valley Estate, Penbont House provides the perfect respite from everyday stresses. Whether you have time for a cup of tea, a leisurely lunch or an overnight getaway – Penbont House is ready to welcome you. Penbont House is open 10am – 6pm during the summer months and open 10am – 430pm during the winter. Enjoy a relaxing cup of tea in our splendid conservatory, stunning in any weather. Meals are served between 12 noon – 3pm and Afternoon Tea from 2pm, Sundays we serve Sunday roasts so afternoon teas are not available. We serve a delicious selection of freshly baked homemade cakes daily from 10am. The Elan Valley is a beautiful area made even more compelling by the dams and reservoirs, which together create a wonderful, living landscape. Plus we lie at the heart of the Cambrian Mountains, so you are never far away from an adventure, a different point of interest or a spectacular view. The dams and reservoirs, the working legacy of remarkable Victorian engineering, add to the captivating and ever changing scenery. You can stroll, picnic or hike; cycle or mountain bike; bird watch, fish or safari! The Elan Valley is a haven for wildlife, one of the most important sites in Wales! There is always something to warm the heart throughout the year, you just have to come and find it! The Elan Valley Estate has some of the most breathtaking night skies in Europe. Here, the Milky Way arches majestically across the sky, making it a great location for stargazing or night photography. In 2015, the Elan Valley Estate was awarded an International Dark Sky Park Status from the International Dark Sky Association (IDA), which means that the area is protected from encroaching man-made light pollution.
