Having searched for a place near where we were, we visited the Tyneside Tavern.
What a stroke of luck that was, a warm welcome from staff and customers alike, a bowl of water for Bert and biscuits at the bar and great quality Italian food for us humans .
Equally warm wishes on departure.
Great pub.
