The Black River Inn

The Black River Inn was bought by current owners Gill & Alex in June 2018. They underwent a complete refurbishment of the pub, and three weeks after taking over opened the new Black River Inn complete with bar and restaurant area, and an extensive, beer garden complete with views over the Devon countryside that stretch for miles. When you walk into the pub you are welcomed into the bar area which is 100% dog friendly. The only ask is owners keep dogs on leads. The bar area offers bar seating directly in front of the bar, and on the other side of the room, bar dining is available. A log burner with sofas around it allow for that cosy drink in the winter. As you walk toward the back of the pub, you pass the restaurant area which can be booked for private dining and functions. The bar door opens up to an extensive beer garden complete with raised flowers beds offering colourful floral displays. Decking areas, grassed lawn both with benches or comfier seating offers variety for dining, or enjoying a drink.

The kitchen offer up a variety of menus. The lunch offering showcases pub classics such as burgers, steaks and sandwiches, or perhaps have a few 'small plates' and enjoy tapas style lunch with lots of mini plates based around our menus. The evening menu gives diners the option of pub classics, more fine dining, gastro-pub options and a healthy selection of daily specials. Sunday lunch offers a selection fo different starters and desserts, a selection of 3 different Sunday roast meats, a vegetarian option and a fish dish. Or why not enjoy our meat boards that at no extra cost allow for a selection of all the meats and all the Sunday accompaniments. Dietary requirements and food preferences can be catered for.

Dogs are welcome in all parts of the pub, save the restaurant, where we ask diners who are not favourable or have allergies to pets to enjoy their meals. We do ask owners to keep dogs on leads. Water bowls are available throughout the pub and in the beer garden. Treats are always on hand to help yourself to at the bar. Local walks to stretch your legs are available; just ask a member of staff.
