Set in a peaceful Cotswold village, surrounded by hills, valleys and commons, the area is ideal for walking, golfing, cycling and riding. Selsley is renowned not only for its common – a haven for dogs and views across the Severn to Wales but also its church and its stained glass windows. They were manufactured at the Morris factory and designed by Burne Jones, Rossetti, Ford Madox Browne, Webb and by Morris himself. They remain the only complete ecclesiastical glazing by this firm in existence. A drawing preserved in the church is the finest of Bodley's extremely rare perspective drawings. Bodley's hand may also be perceived in the many careful detailed designs of the interior fittings., Cheltenham, Bath, Bristol and Cardiff are readily accessible. The Bell is conveniently located to visit Slimbridge Wildfowl trust, Typical Cotswold villages and towns – Cirencester, Bourton on the Water, Broadway and Bibury.

Pub dog Bacchus, Chef owner, Mark Payne and his long suffering partner - Mrs Chef extend a warm welcome to guests.Menus at The Bell Inn offer a range of classic and contemporary dishes, utilising the best in seasonal local produce.

We use local produce where possible and it is all freshly prepared on site. Mark creases a seasonally led menu utilising wild, foraged food and whenever possible, produce that Mrs Chef and himself have grown on their allotment in Stroud. Whilst the pub is in no way self sufficient with fruit and vegetables, a proportion of what we serve has the ultimate provenance that we have seen it grow from seed.

Mark believes homemade is important so you can rest assured even the bread and mayonnaise are made in house! Pub classics such as burgers, pie and fish and chips are available alongside a creative restaurant menu which changes with the seasons.
