With its stunning location sat on the hill above Uig bay, 5 minutes from the Ferry Port, the Hotel and Lodge make a perfect base for exploring North Skye before heading off to the Outer Hebrides, the Highlands and beyond. The Fairy Glen can be found in the hills just behind the Hotel while the Quiraing, Kilt Rock and the Old Man of Stor are an easy drive around the peninsula. The scenery is spectacular and has provided the backdrop for many films including Stardust, Macbeth, Prometheus and most recently Spielberg’s BFG. The village of Uig is home to Uig Pottery and the Isle of Skye Brewery, both of which have shops on site.
Read MoreThe Uig Hotel is an old coaching Inn dating back to 1831 and the Lodge was originally built in the grounds on the site of the stables in 1970. Its owned and run by Billy and Anne Harley, joined by a friendly team including dogs Ziggy and Rosie!
The Hotel has 11 warm and comfortable bedrooms, many with sea views, while our Lodge has a further 8 all with views of the bay. Our restaurant, bar and reception areas are within the main Hotel and the Lodge rooms are a few minutes’ walk to the rear. Both buildings are pet friendly; dogs are welcome in our rooms and bar area.
We pride ourselves on our quality homecooked food and work hard to source as much local produce as we can. Our favourites are the Highland red deer and scallops from nearby Uist. The restaurant and bar both overlook the bay and you can sit in our sun lounge and taste the local Isle of Skye ales, Isle of Skye gin or one of a range of Talisker single malts.
The local area is full of wildlife; both golden eagles and sea eagles can be spotted across the peninsula and otters, seals and dolphins can be seen in the bay. Why not take a boat trip out from the Pier to see the puffins and Minke whales?
