Trigony House Hotel
(4 reviews)
One of the UK’s best Pet & Dog Friendly Hotels
Read MoreTrigony is a pet & dog friendly hotel. Dogs are not just allowed but welcomed at Trigony. The house is surrounded by the rolling hills of Dumfriesshire, so dogs are well catered for with some great local countryside and dog friendly walks to explore. There are some lovely walks for you and your four legged friend straight from the hotels front door. We provide all pet owners with a welcome pack for every dog that stays with us at Trigony. This includes a map of the land around our hotel with all the best walks in the area as well as doggy treats. We make a small charge for dogs of £10 per night, but every dog that stays with us at Trigony gets their own passport, and after 4 stays the 5th stay is free for your furry friend! We also provide washing facilities in-case your dog decides to go for a swim in the River Nith or on a dog friendly beach! Drying towels and a doggy bed as well as dog food is available on request. Also if you want a day out without your four legged friend with notice we can arrange a dog sitter to take care of your pooch whilst you have a night out. Otto, our young Dobermann in training, looks forward to welcoming you to Trigony Hotel and will happily show you all the best walks around our dog friendly hotel here in the rolling Dumfriesshire hills! 6 reasons Trigony was awarded the best pet-friendly hotel in the UK: 1. Dogs are welcomed throughout the hotel and grounds 2. Great dog friendly walks directly from the hotel 3. A welcome box with dog treats for every pooch 4. Dog sitting available with notice on request 5. FREE dog beds, towels and bowls provided on request 6. Doggy Breakfast Menu (for those that are allowed) Trigony House Hotel Residential Dog Training Understanding our furry friends is something we all aim to do, however without actually speaking their language, this can be challenging. One way we can learn to understand them better is through training alongside people who have dedicated years to learning their body language, behaviours and even specific breed traits. As passionate dog lovers we offer the opportunity to share this experience with you, through one to one training sessions. This will help you understand who your dog is, what they, as an individual need from you, counter any unsavory behaviours they may exhibit and address any issues or worries you may have regarding your furry friend. Each dog is unique and should be treated as such, we aim to help you better understand how your dog experiences life, why your dog acts in certain ways and what personality traits they have within the canine world. Then offer tips, tricks and a sustainable training routine anyone can follow. This is why we set out to help teach owners to: Learn to read dog body language in depth Understand why dogs may have certain triggers and reactivity issues and how to counter them Teach dogs' basic commands, such as heel, recall, sit, stay and leave Build a more confident dog in real world situations Desensitise your dog to stressful situations Teach your dog to enjoy having rules and boundaries, with positive reinforcement Correctly discipline dogs fairly Be confident when working with your dog Walk dogs with ease, introduce techniques and the right tools to help with socialising Gain a stronger connection between owner and dog And most importantly, keeping your unique furry friend happy! The course is made up of 4 two hour sessions which we have outlined below, but please bare in mind that it is just a rough outline as each course is tailored to the individual needs of your dog First 2 hour session: Learning the personality of your dog and what that means for you as an owner, general assessment of your dogs personal needs and traits Second 2 hour session: Taking what we’ve learnt about your dog and addressing the training issues, Teaching owners proper and efficient training techniques Third 2 hour session: Addressing more serious issues and fine tuning behaviours, general responsiveness and impulse control Fourth 2 hour session: Recap of everything covered in the first three sessions plus a detailed individualy tailored training plan to take away Our course is specifically designed to be very flexible, and enable us to tailor it to meet you and your dogs unique requirements. You can choose to have an intensive course with 3 2 hour sessions in one day with an hours break in-between sessions for lunch and afternoon tea, followed by a re-cap session the following morning of 2 hours length. OR You can have a more leisurely training course with two two hour sessions spread over two days the choice is yours. (Whichever course length you decide to book the total price is £250) Lunch and afternoon tea can also be booked separately at the hotel. And once you have completed your training course with us and left Trigony you will still have the back-up of our expert trainer to fall back on via email should you have any further questions.

Just amazing! the comfort of the dogs is important to them, they also do amazing food for the humans too. Nice hunting lodge property not spoilt by modernisation

Dogs are recognised as one of the family which makes everyone relaxed. Me and Monty have now stayed here twice and we’ve had the warmest of welcomes each time. The doggy breakfast and room treats are a lovely touch too.
