The Golden Lion

Fab B & B next to a country pub in the lovely village of St John's Chapel, County Durham.

Owners/managers Tyrone and Jen, could not have been nicer, so welcoming and keen to ensure we had a lovely stay.

We have an rescue XL Bully (friendly), who is required by law to be muzzled in public now and this was the first time we had been away with him to a B & B or taken him in a pub.

All the staff and customers were lovely towards us and doggo and gave him lots of strokes, treats and even offers to dog sit him! There was a large dog bowl with water available.

Many locals and other customers had dogs. Sometimes there were 4 or 5 in the small bar area together, all getting on and getting fussed.

Lots of walks locally and a dog friendly cafe next door.

The breaky in this B & B was amazing too! And good lunchtime/evening menu and choice of drinks.

We stayed in the large double room with en suite and it was perfect for the 2 of us and doggo & spotlessly clean. There are a flight of steps up to this accommodation.
