Talland Bay Hotel

(1 review)

Luxury hotel on a secluded stretch of Cornish coast The true spirit of Cornwall lies to the South East. Undiscovered and unspoilt. Away from the crowds, in a quiet nook. At Talland Bay it’s the sky above and waves below. It’s fine tipple and burning ocean sunsets. It’s you and yours. Be free on an elemental coast, hidden from the world. Cornish food through & through Real food is made with heart, from seasonal local ingredients. Provenance is paramount to us. Our head chef Glen Merriot, and his team, source proper Cornish produce. Fresh seafood off the boat, quality meats, and the richest dairy produce in the country. Glen learnt the ropes from Michelin Starred trained chefs and has battled his way to the top over the last decade. Whole hearty food, created with knowlege, passion & he takes great pride in his extensive cook book collection, taking inspiration from professional chefs which can be seen on the plate! The best food is an emotional experience. It excites our senses and fills us with delight. One of life’s true pleasures. At Talland Bay we’re committed to a dining experience that moves you. That’s why we only use local Cornish produce. Our team, led by Glen Meriott, selects seasonal fare—freshly caught, picked, churned, and plucked. Then, with a flourish of imagination, they create inspirational dishes. Residents & all are welcome to two menus served Monday to Saturday, on Sundays, we slow down the pace a little & serve our Sunday Roast menu at lunch time & dinner time, so, you are welcome to two roast dinners but we recommend taking advantage of our beautiful grounds or the local area at lunch time. Our lush tropic gardens are dotted with curiosities to pique your interest. It’s a recapturing of uninhibited childhood imagination. And for reflective moments, recline upon our trim lawn—a grass infinity pool vanishing into ocean. See for yourself. Bringing your dog on a Cornish adventure only adds to the enjoyment. There’s plenty of countryside for them to explore and waves to bark at. We’ve lots of dog friendly rooms for you to choose from. Check our rooms and suites page. Some hotels in Cornwall will tolerate the odd dog and others claim to be dog friendly. But what does that mean? For us, we’re not dog friendly to increase our popularity. We genuinely care about dogs. We know they are family. Taking them along only improves an adventure. Your four legged friend can join you on your break away, we charge £15 per night per dog. They will be offered sausage for breakfast & poached chicken for dinner. We do reccommend that you bring your dogs normal food & they take advatnage of our little offerings. Be where rolling patchwork fields surrender to the shimmering English Channel. Cuddle up on our soft beds. Catch glimpses of azure sea and dappled gardens between fluttering curtains. Sip coffee at dawn and something stronger at dusk. Eat well and fall asleep without a care. Leave behind the usual. Our country house in the shade of grand pines is a place of intrigue, indulgence, and genuine moments of feeling far away from the typical. Come and lose yourself in the visual poetry and natural romance of Cornwall. When you’re away from home it’s the little things that count. No one likes wandering around with cold wet hair or finding themselves lacking something comfy to slip into after a blissful soak in the tub. That’s why we have a hair dryer and a soft white robe and slippers in each room waiting for you. Our rooms also come with white company toiletries, tea and coffee making facilities (and tea and coffee), and moreish Cornish baked biscuits. Absolute comfort & relaxation Our plush rooms are created for beauty sleep and blissful relaxation. With an open window, drift off to a salt-breeze swishing the trees and awake to a pale sun rising over the deep. Wander down for breakfast at your leisure and begin a day in Eden. At Talland Bay we’re more than waiting staff, we’re curators. Anything you need, simply ask. Our passion is setting the stage for your romantic adventure.

Stayed here in September 2022. Fantastic location right on the coast path. Food was delicious and they really do welcome dogs - chicken for dinner and sausage for breakfast.
