The Rural Estate at Swinton is situated close to the market town of Masham in Wensleydale, North Yorkshire, and has been in the ownership of the Cunliffe-Lister family since the 1880s. It extends from the River Ure across 20,000 acres of rural hill farming countryside up onto the moorland Yorkshire Dales. About two thirds of the land is farmland and forestry and one third open moorland, and the vast majority of the Estate sits within the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and borders the Yorkshire Dales National Park. There is extensive public access to the countryside on the Estate with many miles of public footpaths, permissive footpaths, bridlepaths and mountain bike trails. Country activities available include falconry, fishing, clay pigeon shooting and pony trekking.

Swinton estate just outside Ripon a dog friendly stately home millie enjoyed the lovely walks around the grounds and deer park, a fantastic afternoon tea, really nice surroundings friendly staff there is also a cookery school on site rooms also available. it is certainly on the high end of the price scale but great for a special anniversary or a treat.
