Located in the pretty Borrowdale valley, the Borrowdale Hotel enjoys one of the most enchanting settings in the Lake District. With 40 comfortable bedrooms, AA Rosette dining and dog friendly areas for you to relax with your pooch. Dog beds and bowls are available so you don’t have to fill the car with all the extra baggage.
From the Borrowdale Hotel, step outside and take a stroll to Derwentwater Lake or head to the Lake District fells, all with your dog at your side.
Please note that the dining room is not dog friendly, but you are welcome to enjoy your meals with your dog in the bright conservatory or relaxed bar.

I've coming to the Borrowdale hotel with my dogs every year for over 13 years. It's our home from home special place. Always a warm welcome awaits and the most perfect dog friendly hotel and staff.

We stay there regularly and they are so welcoming to our dogs. Dog bowls and beds are provided in your room and there is a sign you can leave on the door to say that an unattended dog is in the room. Many places you have to put your dog(s) in the Car whilst you have breakfast and dinner. Dogs are allowed in the bar and lounges. There is an excellent dog walking place opposite the hotel for taking the dogs out first thing and last thing at night. It is in a beautiful location so we are spoilt for choice with many walks straight from the door. Not only that but also the food and service is excellent. We treat ourselves to a couple of mini breaks there once or twice a year.
