Read MoreRedwings Caldecott, a Visit England Quality Assured Visitor Attraction, is a must-see for all donkey and mule lovers with a herd of over 30 of the adorable, long-eared creatures! Among the gorgeous rescued residents you can enjoy cuddles with is cute little donkey Esther who was rescued from the horrific conditions of Spindle Farm in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, in 2008. Handsome Shire cross Fox and cheeky Shetland pony Sampson can’t wait to meet you either! After a relaxing stroll, you can put your feet up with a warm cuppa and a slice of cake in Oliver’s Café. There’s also an on-site gift shop offering a wide range of souvenirs, with all proceeds supporting the hundreds of animals in Redwings’ care. Having met the centre’s lovable residents, you might like to sponsor one of the charity’s adorable Adoption Stars. Available from just £15 per year, you can adopt for yourself or as a thoughtful gift for a friend or loved one. Redwings Caldecott is open every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday all year round, 10am to 4pm (closed Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays). We are continuing to ask supporters to pre-book tickets to ensure the number of people at the centre remains at a controlled level. To book your tickets please visit our website https://www.redwings.org.uk/get-involved/visit/caldecott-visitor-centre. Entry and parking are free but donations of all sizes can really support the charity’s work if you would like to make one. Dogs on leads are welcome.

Always a calm visit, wandering the walkways and reflecting on life knowing that the money being donated goes to a fantastic cause x

Flo & I have been visiting since she was 18 months old (she is now nearly 15). It is a lovely day out, she is at ease around horses/donkeys, the staff are friendly & she gets fuss, & the cafe is dog friendly with treats too.
