Read MoreLovable donkey duo Wiggins and Wacko, real-life Black Beauty Maya and resident troublemakers, the Gangsters, are just some of the 50 rescued residents ready to make your acquaintance at Redwings Aylsham in Norfolk. Since forming in 1984, Redwings now cares for over 1,500 rescued horses, donkey, ponies and mules at its centres across the country – which includes Redwings Aylsham in Norfolk, a Visit England Quality Assured Visitor Attraction. Everything Redwings does is 100% funded by the public. After making plenty of new four-legged friends, you can also enjoy a relaxing stroll around the centre’s peaceful wildlife walks – perfect for keen ramblers and dog walkers! Hot drinks and warm lunches are available from Gulliver’s Café, our children’s play area remains partially closed, but our gift shop is open with a wide range of souvenirs to browse, with all proceeds supporting the hundreds of rescued donkeys, mules, ponies and horses in Redwings’ care. Having met the centre’s lovable residents, you might like to sponsor one of the charity’s adorable Adoption Stars. Available from just £15 per year, you can adopt for yourself or as a thoughtful gift for a friend or loved one. Redwings Aylsham is open every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday all year round, 10am to 4pm (closed Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays). We are continuing to ask supporters to pre-book tickets to ensure the number of people at the centre remains at a controlled level. To book your tickets please visit our website https://www.redwings.org.uk/get-involved/visit/aylsham-visitor-centre. Entry and parking are free but donations of all sizes can really support the charity’s work if you would like to make one. Dogs on leads are welcome.

I visited recently with my daughter and pooch and they both had a wonderful time!

Spent the day there a few weeks ago and was very moved by the care that was given to the animals and the passion of the team. Great place with a great cafe too! Our dog was given lots of cuddles too !
Karrie Bevis, September 2023
It’s the perfect combination. Animal lovers usually have animals and to take your dogs out with you as members of your family is so helpful a d enjoyable. It allows more visitor to the sanctuary and therefore helps generate awareness and revenue
