Persie Distillery
(37 reviews)
Persie Distillery in Highland Perthshire is a distillery with a purpose, dedicated to raising money for animal welfare. There are three 'dog gins', with each recipe carefully created to reflect a breed of dog and each bottle raising funds for PADS dog rescue. Labrador Gin is like the breed: classic, mellow, soft in the mouth and warming, with juniper and eucalyptus. Spaniel Gin is like the breed: lively and spicy, featuring nutmeg and cinnamon. And Dachshund Gin Liqueur is like the breed: a sweet but sharp citrus liqueur. Open to visitors all year round and of course dog friendly!
Read MorePersie Distillery in Highland Perthshire always wanted to be a force for good in the community, balancing profit and purpose and helping causes close to the hearts of the family who run it. And in 2018 they did it! They let the dogs out! A family of three charity ‘dog gins’ was born, with each recipe carefully created to reflect a breed of dog and each bottle raising funds for the well-loved dog rescue charity PADS – Perthshire Abandoned Dogs Society. For the five-year anniversary of the dog gin portfolio the Persie team celebrated donations in the region of £25,000 from bottle sales, quarterly donations, collecting cans, raffle prizes and competitions. They are particularly proud to have helped subsidise a doggie food bank during the pandemic and a therapy garden for dogs struggling with socialisation after lockdown. Open to visitors all year round, Persie Distillery is at the foot of Glenshee on the highest public road in the UK and the start of the SnowRoads adventure through Cairngorms National Park, halfway between Edinburgh and Aberdeen.

Tracey Stewart, August 2024
Our dogs, Tullie and Douggie, and ourselves had a wonderful time at the distillery. It’s rare to be able to take your dogs to such a place and we were all made to feel really welcome. Everybody was really friendly, we had a great time tasting the distillery’s amazing gins and our dogs had lovely dog treats and water too. We would thoroughly recommend Persie Distillery as a dog-friendly destination when visiting Perthshire.
Karen Russell, August 2022
Support dog charities in selling their gins, I have the Dachshund liquer, and their distillery is dog friendly too x
Patricia Patterson, August 2022
Very dog friendly. Excellent gin and they donate money from every bottle of doggy flavoured gin to a local charity, PADS.
