Middleport Pottery

Middleport Pottery is a charity-owned visitor attraction in the heart of Stoke-on-Trent. Situated next to the Trent & Mersey Canal, It is ideally located for walkers and those on narrowboats as daytime mooring is also available. Free parking is also available.

Middleport Pottery was built by Burgess & Leigh in the late nineteenth century. This Grade II*-listed pottery is the UK’s last working Victorian potbank in continuous production, and after 130 years Middleport Pottery remains home to world-famous Burleigh pottery that is all made onsite.

Visitors with dogs can take part in the heritage trail and learn about the history of Middleport Pottery and the Potteries both on the main site and across the road at Harper Street (sorry our factory tours are not dog-friendly)..Visitors can then have something to eat at The Packing House Café where they will find some Staffordshire favorites on the menu and Afternoon Tea can be pre-booked 24 hours in advance. The Packing House Cafe welcomes dogs inside & out. No visit is complete without exploring the independent traders of Port Street Range & Harper Street and a visit to the famous Burleigh Factory shop (open tue-sun). It’s a great day out.
