What to expect at Goodwoof? DOGA Experience downward dog at Goodwoof with your dog by your side in this human yoga practice that makes the most of the dog/human connection in order to relieve stress and tension in both. Described by Mahny Djahanguiri, the UK and Europe’s leading practitioner, as ‘the sacred bond between dog and owner’, DOGA requires no previous yoga experience – though a sense of humour is recommended. Mahny will lead DOGA sessions at Goodwoof which will be open to everyone. Sound Bath Put those paws up at Goodwoof and let the relaxation wash over you and your canine companion as classically trained world-class harpist Siobhan Swider conducts these holistic sound therapy sessions. Combining rhythms and frequencies to harness the therapeutic power of music and sound from the harp, Tibetan crystal bowls and vocals, the Hound Bath will offer both human and hound a restorative repose. Pilates Core strength is essential for CaniSports – not to mention simply walking large breeds (and smaller, particularly enthusiastic ones). Devised by Pilates instructor and CaniCross teacher, Louise Humphreys, this Goodwoof class will be focused on building core strength for walking and running with your dog. While the exercises will be purely for humans, dog interaction will be welcome – a great way to connect in a stress-free environment. Frisbee Goodwoof is the only place to see incredible, world-class Disc Dog action. World and European champion Adrian Stocia and his team of award-winning dogs will make a much-anticipated UK debut at Goodwoof, showcasing spectacular skills in distance and freestyle catching – combining choreographed moves with dynamic multi-disc displays that depend on the unique harmony between handler and dogs. Have a Go at Disc Dog: With the benefits of mental stimulation and challenging aerobic exercise, this sport is a fun way to keep your dog (and anyone who might be watching) entertained. Flyball High energy meets supreme speed as Goodwoof welcomes the world’s fastest Flyball teams to the Arena across the weekend. Blink and you might miss this breath-taking head-to-head competition as canine athletes race over a set of hurdles, release a ball from a trigger box and return to tag a teammate in this rapid relay. Have a Go at Flyball: This sport welcomes all shapes and sizes, and is suitable for almost all breeds, providing a wonderfully inclusive and enjoyable community where like-minded dog-lovers can get involved. Spaniel Celebration 2022 will be the year of the Spaniel. Each year Goodwoof will celebrate an exceptional breed, and for the inaugural event, we had to choose the Spaniel – a breed absolutely central to the story of dogs at Goodwood. Led by the Duke of Richmond and his own Spaniels, the Spaniel Parade promises to be a spectacular moment full of energy – with all Spaniels at the event, from a Cavalier King Charles to an English Springer, invited to take part. Heelwork to Music Dancing duets marry obedience with stunning showmanship in Heelwork to Music set to come to Goodwoof in May – one of the fastest-growing canine activities and undoubtedly one of the most entertaining. One of only a handful of those in the UK to be recognised as a Heelwork to Music Kennel Club Accredited Trainer at Advanced Level, Gina Pink will bring her wealth of expertise to the Goodwoof Arena showcasing heelwork routines beautifully choreographed to music. Have a Go at Heelwork: An ideal way to provide a playful challenge for your canine companion, Heelwork to Music is a chance to explore what your dog can do as you find a sense a rhythm together. CaniSports Goodwoof will welcome the world’s best dog and human teams to compete head-to-head in CaniCross, CaniBike and CaniScoot – dog-powered sports where the dog is harnessed to its human via a bungee line, leading the pair in a running, biking or scooting race. We’ve designed special CaniSports courses to make the most of the varied terrain of the estate – the perfect backdrop for high-energy action. Have a Go at CaniSports: Tremendously good fun and a great way to get fit by enjoying off-road adventures running, biking or scooting with your dog, you’ll get to know the specialist equipment and how to use directional cues before trying a short interval of CaniSport with your dog. Agility Goodwoof’s sensational agility course will be entirely dedicated to those who want to Have a Go. With obstacles suitable for dogs of all breeds, shapes and sizes – and the most novice of handler – the course will provide the chance to explore this favourite dog sport in an informal setting. Barkitecture presented by Mastercard UK Goodwoof has unveiled an exciting collection of architectural genii to design incredible kennels for the great canine extravaganza of 2022, Goodwoof. Assessed by a panel of judges, chaired by Kevin McCloud, Barkitecture presented by Mastercard UK will feature a stunning architectural exhibition of 21st century kennels designed by the greatest minds of architecture and design. A one-of-a-kind design competition, each kennel an exquisite fusion of line, form, and function, flipping the expression 'being in the doghouse' on its head. Each will be a work of art in its own right. Lord Foster, Sir Michael Hopkins, and Love From's Jony Ive and Marc Newson are among the luminaries creating these awe-inspiring masterpieces. With a Bonhams auction to round off the competition, guests can bid to own a Barkitectural showpiece, with all proceeds going to Goodwoof's chosen charity, the Dogs Trust.
