Ty Hiraeth

Ty Hiraeth is a four-star rated, dog-loving holiday cottage in the Afan Forest, South Wales. 

Located in the quiet hilltop community of Oakwood, Pontrhydyfen, it’s just a few minutes’ walk to the spectacular 48-square-mile Afan Forest Park. The nearest beach is a 20-minute drive with the beautiful Gower Peninsular just 30 minutes away. 

The house sleeps up to four people and has super-comfortable beds, crisp linens, and everything you need for a truly relaxing break including a log burner, a well-stocked bookcase, superfast broadband, and Sky TV. For those who need to work while they’re away, there’s a writing desk & chair in the sunroom. The house has a secure courtyard garden and a brick-built shed for bike storage. 

Ty Hiraeth is the perfect base from which to explore all that South Wales has to offer and ideal for those who like to do their sightseeing, but then return to somewhere quiet for some rest and relaxation. 

We welcome up to three canine guests - they get their own welcome pack which includes details of local walks and dog-friendly attractions, a tasty treat in the welcome basket, and a special holiday tag to borrow while they're staying. We LOVE seeing pictures of our canine guests having a lovely time on their holidays and regularly post the snaps their people send us on our Facebook page. 

Ty Hiraeth was born in 2018 when, fed up with trying to find high quality places to stay with our own reactive dogs, we dreamt about somewhere that would feel like a home from home for people and dogs alike. Somewhere that would give you a big cwtch (Welsh for cuddle) the minute you walked through the front door. Five years later, our reviews suggest that that's exactly what it does.
