We really welcome four-legged friends at Trewindsor Cottages, knowing what an essential part of your holiday this is. Every effort has been made to ensure that dogs have a safe, enjoyable stay too. Each cottage has its own private enclosed garden to relax in, our welcome hamper contains local treats for humans and treats and a toy for doggies, there are dog essentials such as throws and dog towels for their sandy and muddy paws, bowls, and poo bags, and Plas has the added bonus of a downstairs doggie shower. The local area is perfect for dogs, with plenty of dog-friendly beaches including the stunning Poppit Sands where they can run for miles. There is lots of choice for eating out taking your four-legged friend with you, but if you would like to try one which doesn’t we will provide doggie-sitting if we can, feel free to ask before or during your stay. Created from the original cow-shed and grain store of Trewindsor Farm, Plas y Wennol and Cwtch y Wennol have been restored and designed by the owners to combine luxury with a contemporary touch, whilst retaining the original atmosphere of each building, with wooden beams and exposed stone walls. The cottages are named after the swallows, wennol, which visit and nest here every year. Each cottage has its own individual character, combined with its own unique luxury touches. Both have roaring wood-burning stoves for cosy evenings, and modern additions of Smart tvs, Bluetooth speakers, Nespresso coffee machines, luxury linens, and a few extra treats to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Cwtch has a stunning bathroom with deep free-standing bath perfect for relaxing after adventuring. Trewindsor Farm’s tranquil setting of 56 acres of fields and ancient woodland surrounds the cottages, falling down to the Arberth stream at the bottom of the valley. Perfect for nature-lovers, or those who simply want to unwind away from the hustle and bustle, you can walk from the front door, following paths through the woods awash with bluebells in the spring. The bustling town of Cardigan is just a short drive away, with its unique cafes and artisan shops, also the quaint village of St Dogmaels with its ancient abbey, pubs, famous fish and chip shop, and weekly farmers market. A little further are more beautiful beaches, the Preseli mountains, ancient castles and monuments, and inland walks. The cottages The comfort of our guests is at the heart of what we do We understand how precious time away is, and knowing that you can relax from the moment you step through the door. Plas y Wennol Plas is our 2-bedroomed cottage, perfect for a family of four, friends, or equally cosy and comfortable for just two. This is the perfect place to unwind, with a cosy living space complete with -two squishy sofas, an armchair nook for reading, and a cosy wood burning stove for wintry afternoons. The spacious open-plan dining area with oak table and chairs is perfect for you and any guests you have to visit. The generously equipped kitchen has all the tools for the enthusiastic chef, unless you choose to cook al fresco on the BBQ on the terrace, or eat out at one of the local eateries. Spectacular views from the windows at the front look out over the fields and valley beyond. The downstairs loo is equipped with ‘doggie’ shower, humans also allowed! Perfect for washing the sand off after a day at the beach, or washing muddy paws after a ramble through the woods. Up the full-height glazed staircase you will find two beamed bedrooms, each with a glass Juliet balcony overlooking the cottage garden and fields beyond. The French-style king-size bed is perfect for breakfast in bed, the ensuite has a large shower. The second bedroom allows flexible sleeping- it can be set up as a king-size bed or singles, at your request. The main bathroom also has a huge shower, bath and lots of beams again! The private garden is the perfect spot to soak up the Welsh sunshine on the sun-trap terrace, with steps up to the lawn for children and four-legged friends to run around. Behind the welsh slate wall is a private field, where red kites and buzzards often swoop. Cwtch y Wennol Providing the perfect romantic hideaway, Cwtch is formed from the old grainstore. The exposed stone walls and full-height ceiling rising to the beams above are especially beautiful lit up in the evening. The cosy living area is perfect for curling up with a book or magazine or to watch a film in front of the roaring wood burning stove. Dining is at the little breakfast table perfect for two, or at the kitchen island while watching the cook at work in the contrastingly modern kitchen which is generously equipped. The mezzanine bedroom with oak king-sized bed overlooks the living space with glazed balconies, low-ceilinged with beams. Luxurious little touches include robes and slippers for wearing down to the gorgeous stone-walled bathroom with huge bath perfect for candle-lit bubble baths. There is also a large shower with rainfall head. Outside, Cwtch also has a large private garden with sun-trap terrace, two seating areas, lawn for four-legged friends to run around, and is securely and privately fenced.
