Trelake Cottage

Trelake Cottage is a family, dog friendly home and has 2 double bedrooms which are let. 
The cottage is situated in the Hamlet of Treknow on the outskirts of Tintagel and a short walk to the south West coastal path. This area is very dog friendly with pubs and shops being very accommodating to our four legged friends. 
The lounge provides a calm, spacious area, with a tiled floor, which is ideal for dogs, where you can relax at the end of the day, cool in summer and cozy, with a log burner, in winter. The lounge leads on to both the kitchen and the dining room. 
The kitchen is a fully equipped working kitchen which leads on to the tiered garden and the dining room. 
Both bedrooms benefit from far reaching views to Port Isaac. The rooms are spacious, centrally heated, double-glazed and have plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. We provide all linens, towels, tea towels etc, and all mattress and pillow protectors are freshly changed for new guests. 
There is a family bathroom with full sized bath and overhead shower and a heated towel rail. 
We believe we have created a beautiful, if not unusual tiered garden, with several different areas for yours and your dogs enjoyment. Many of our past K9 guests have very much enjoyed exploring all the nooks and crannys our garden provides. On the top tier you will find a decked area with an Arbour seat where you can sit and enjoy the views and if you are lucky, some of the most spectacular sun sets you will ever see. We lived at the cottage ourselves for some 8 years or so, with our own 4 legged would be Houdinis' so I am confident in saying that the security of the garden for your dog has been very well tried and tested in the past, but I would always advocate keeping an eye on your pet wherever they are in the garden. The garden is very well lit at night, making it easy to keep watch on your pet. 

Not only is the stunning South West Coastal path close by (please keep your dog on a lead when walking this path), but there are many footpaths, walks and open spaces which are ideal to walk with your dog.  Not far away you will find many big beaches where you and your dog can enjoy all the exercise and fun the sand and sea can offer. You will find a list of very dog friendly beaches at the cottage, but if you would like some more information, please contact me. I provide plenty of towels for you dog incase of inclement weather, metal water/food bowls, poop bags, etc.  We also have an outside hose should you need to clean your dog down after a particularly mucky outing!

Popular walks in to Tintagel, beyond to Bossiney, St Nectans Glen and further on to Boscastle, although you may choose to catch a bus one way for this particular hike! In the other direction on the Coastal path, for hardened walkers you will find the coastal path to Port Isaac. This walk will take several hours one way and you will need to take refreshments as there is no where on the way to buy any, until you reach Port Gavern. Folk do definitely tend to only walk one way, as it is quite strenuous, so you will need to plot your bus route, or pre book a taxi. There are many Public Footpaths that criss cross the area.

We are very lucky not only to be in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, but also in an area where there is very little light pollution at night. So, if out and about in the dark and it’s safe to do so, do look up! 
We have very simple rules for pets: For the comfort of future guests we ask that they not be allowed either on the furniture or upstairs - there is a stair gate to stop any explorers and that all dog waste be cleared from the garden and immediate access areas to the cottage.
