The Old Post House
Dogs: 2
Sleeps: 10
A beautiful, detached cottage ideally located in the sleepy little village of Monkland and surrounded by unspoilt Herefordshire countryside. This former Post House offers warm and welcoming accommodation with five delightful bedrooms, including a ground floor twin and a master with en-suite facilities. Decorated with a charming country theme throughout, with modern and bright accommodation, the well-equipped kitchen has a dining area to seat all guests, with doors leading to the rear patio and pretty garden. The main sitting room houses a warming woodburning stove, with a second stove set in the relaxing garden room to the rear, both with a TV should you fancy a cosy night in with a film. The garden room also has double doors, which can be swept open in the summer time to invite inside the warm weather and wonderful scenery. The extensive, enclosed garden is a lovely place to settle with a refreshing drink or a morning coffee before setting off for your day, and the paddock beyond provides the perfect place for younger guests and four-legged friends to stretch their legs. The lovely little village of Monkland sits at the start of the Black and White Village Trail and is home to Monkland Cheese Dairy, creating artisan products, which you’re welcome to sample in the farm shop. After a walk or bike ride through the glorious surrounding countryside, why not stop for a homemade cake or a light bite in the award-winning tea room? Leominster, just three miles away, is well worth exploring with its ancient buildings and plenty of pubs, shops and cafes, whilst Hereford is just a little further, with its treasured, medieval Mappa Mundi.
