Alternatively, there is a children's play area and access to the owners two acres of woodland waiting to be explored. A 1/4 of a mile away in Deanscales Village, is a fantastic family run pub which serves lovely home cooked meals, and is perfect for families and also accepts dogs. The bustling market town of Cockermouth, just three 3 miles away is a great base with a wide range of shops and pubs for you to visit. The area is famous for it's beautiful scenery as well as it's walking at Derwent Lake, Bassenthwaite Lake and Ennerdale Water.
