Located on the edge of North Dorset's famous Blackmore Vale, and within easy reach of Shaftesbury with its iconic Gold Hill, The Cider Mill is a cosy 18th century cottage, nestled in the quaint village of Motcombe The Cider Mill has been lovingly furnished to create a welcoming, stylish and comfortable cottage which is full of charm and character.
Ideally situated in a pretty North Dorset village and on the edge of the glorious Blackmore Vale with its quaint villages and market towns, the cottage is the perfect base for a family or group of friends wishing to explore this lovely rural area. The village of Motcombe has its own friendly community shop, post office and a well-regarded village pub within easy reach.
The countryside surrounding this Dorset cottage offers an abundance of lovely walking and cycling opportunities, with the nearby historic hilltop town of Shaftesbury providing an excellent range of facilities including an array of shops, cafes and good restaurants, as well as the picturesque cobbled Gold Hill of Hovis advertisement fame, and the ancient Abbey Gardens with their stunning views. Further afield, yet all within easy travelling distance of the cottage, are numerous popular attractions including the stunning National Trust house and gardens of Stourhead, Longleat House and Safari Park, historic Stonehenge and the great cities of Bath and Salisbury. This cottage provides an excellent base for exploring Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire at any time of the year.
The Cider Mill has a cosy sitting room with wood burning stove and underfloor heating, and french doors leading outside to the external seating area which is perfect for al fresco dining. There is a spacious and well equipped country style kitchen and dining area with seating for four guests. On the first floor there is a large comfortable double bedroom, a further twin bedroom, and a family bathroom. Outside the cottage garden consists of a large lawn with a pretty patio area complete with furniture, a barbecue and rural views.
Additional Information
Travel cot, high chair and stair gate available on request. Stairgate can only be fitted to the top of the stairs.
One well behaved dog welcome (small additional charge). Please note that the garden is not secure and the village High Street is behind the cottage. Please keep your dog on a lead at all times.
