It is located on the west side of the A165 coastal road, just 1.5 miles from Filey and close to both Scarborough and Bridlington. The Hull to Scarborough bus stops in the village and then from Scarborough there are buses to York, Pickering and further afield. The historic seaside resort of Filey with its sandy beach, two promenades, brightly coloured beach huts and annual Edwardian Festival can be reached on foot via the Wolds or Grange Farm, and there are a number of places of interest within a twenty minute drive, including Sewerby, Scampston, Burton Agnes Halls, Sledmere House, Eden Camp and Flamborough Head with its high chalk cliffs, whilst closer to this Filey cottage is the RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs, and there are many pleasant country walks in the area.
