The village is located on the banks of the River Swale, offering leisurely walks through the surrounding Yorkshire countryside to Richmond, where you can continue your walk around the castle and stop for lunch in the many pubs and cafes that populate its vibrant high street. Slightly further afield the Yorkshire Dales National Park awaits, with the popular village of Reeth is easily accessed within a half an hour's drive. Why not visit Masham with its famous breweries and weekly market, or the picturesque village of Middleham? To the east, visit the bustling market town of Northallerton, providing something for the whole family, or enjoy a day trip to the North York Moors where you will find a fine choice of quaint villages and stunning countryside.
