Stretton House Lodge is open all year round, recently modernised and sleeps up to 2 guests in the very comfortable double bed. Set within a pretty, secure and safe courtyard (min height of the surrounding walls/gates 6'3"). Located in the pretty Devonshire village of Dolton, Stretton House Lodge offers stylish accommodation for a couple wanting a peaceful escape to the Devon countryside. Step inside and be welcomed to a light and bright open-plan living area, perfect for spot of relaxation after a day exploring the wilds of Dartmoor or Exmoor. Take some time to unwind on the sofa in front of the TV before rustling up dinner for two in the well-appointed kitchen. Enjoy a restful night in the double bedroom and wake up each morning to a refreshing shower before heading out. You can enjoy morning coffee in the courtyard garden, with the soothing sounds of the birds in the trees for company. It also makes a lovely spot in the evenings, when the sun is setting to enjoy a meal. For a night away from the kitchen, there's a good food pub in the village about half a mile away. Dolton is a charming, friendly village with an incredibly well stocked shop/post office and local butchers to cater for all. Winding lanes, high hedgerows and a more gentle pace of life characterise the area. the surrounding countryside is perfect for dog walking down leafy lanes or at the nearby nature reserve. For days further out, you're within easy reach of both Dartmoor and Exmoor which offer superb walking as well as numerous country pursuits. Explore RHS Rosemoor Gardens at Torrington, or visit the War Horse Valley Country Farm Park with a farm trail to walk, tractor rides to enjoy and a wealth of history. Visit Cornwall's northern coast at Bude where you'll discover a great selection of sandy beaches for surfing, swimming and sunbathing, from Summerleaze in Bude to Widemouth Bay.
