Newburgh is a Royal Burgh and parish of Fife, 20 miles from St Andrews with its fabulous dog-friendly west sands beach, and lying alongside the river Tay. Within the village you will find a superb selection of amenities and access to a number of attractions including Lindores Abbey distillery, the National Trust Balmerino Abbey, supermarket, pubs, cafes and tea shops.
The region is one of beautiful landscapes and countryside, including woodland walks suitable for dogs at Tentsmuir, Tayport, and around Loch Leven (where you can stop off for a scone or a three course meal at Loch Leven’s Larder). Scone Palace just north of Perth is about a half hours drive and has a full calendar of events and entertainments all year round as well as being the original home to the Stone of Destiny upon which all Scottish Monarchs have been crowned.
