Victorian built by the York & North Midland Railway, this historic railway workers’ cottage provides a ring side seat for the UK’s largest heritage steam railway. The cottage has parking for 1 to 2 cars, a garden and a train viewing area right next to the North York Moors heritage railway line with lovely views of the countryside. The garden is right next to the heritage NYMR line. This is private with the exception of travellers and holiday makers making the most of the steam trains running the picturesque countryside from Pickering to Whitby. There are two seating areas, one for four people and one to seat two with a BBQ for those warm summer nights. There are many walking and cycling trails right from the doorstep heading into the heart of the North York Moors National Park and easy road access to costal towns and villages. Dogs welcome, owners tolerated! The North York Moors is a superb destination for dogs and their owners to go on holiday. We should know, as owners of Poppy the black Labrador and Maisie the Cocker Spaniel. There are numerous walks from the door of the cottage any many more just a short drive away. A bonus is that most of the pubs and cafe’s allow dogs too. We are extremely dog friendly and allow up to two well behaved furry friends to enjoy their holiday in this amazing location. Doggy welcome packs are provided along with bowls and blankets. There is a charge for each dog of £10 per night.
