Named by our predecessors during the building process back in 2014 when said by one of the builders “When it is finished it will be the bee’s knees!” It was then the name and theme for decoration was chosen. How wonderful that you are bringing your pets with you and they are very welcome, we have spare bowls, towels, beds, leads, and toys so don't worry if you forget to bring something, and we will make sure there are some treats available for them also. We do try to keep rules for pets to an absolute minimum and basically these are that they are not allowed in the bedroom or on the living room furniture. They must also not be left unaccompanied in the cottage or in the gardens as we have free range ducks, plus a very deep pond. Our model and baseline is that our cottages are the ones that we would want to find on arrival and stay in. Our prices are the same all year round, with no increases for the Summer, Christmas, New Year, Easter or half term breaks. We offer total flexibility and your short or long break can start on any day of the week with the only stipulation that you book for a minimum of two nights for most of the year (three at Easter, Christmas and during July, and four during August). Check in is normally 3pm and check out 10.30am – if you require an early check in or late check out these can be arranged dependent on availability. The Bee’s Knees offers high levels of quality and is comfortably furnished and well equipped. There is a Smart TV, a Blue Ray DVD player and Panasonic sound system. There are books, games and DVDs together with a large toy box to keep you the little ones (or the adults) amused in the evenings. In the kitchen you will find a ceramic hob, granite worktops, Butlers sink, combination microwave, full sized electric fan over and grill, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, coffee maker, food mixer, slow cooker, blenders and laundry facilities and we feel sure the cottage will easily meet your requirements. There are facilities for you to make everything from a simple toasted sandwich to a full roast dinner, but with excellent local pubs serving delicious food you might just want to relax and take a break from cooking. Both bedrooms, the hall, and the living room all have independently controlled electric radiators in addition to the ‘log’ fire situated in the living room. The bedrooms which are ‘cozy’ in size have velux windows with blackout blinds and build in wardrobes. The single beds in the twin room can be pushed together to make a double bed for adults. The bathroom has a sink and a full size bathtub with an electric shower and there is a separate toilet with another full-size sink. There are also complementary toiletries in the bathrooms for you to use if you wish. We can provide a travel cot, high chair, toilet step, potty and changing mat to save you having to pack these – there is also a good selection of bath toys available to keep the little ones amused. The cottage has its own patio area with outdoor dining furniture, and a bench – this is in addition to having access to the children’s play area (complete with a Wendy House, covered picnic table, climbing frame, swings, and trampoline), and the large shared communal gardens with two gazebos, swing seat, picnic tables, BBQ hut, ‘pub’ and the Lookout over the pond. The Bee’s Knees is ideal for couples and families and can be booked alongside out other cottage, The Borrowers (5* Gold Visit England rated), offering accommodation for larger groups. We ask you to kindly not smoke inside the cottage, but you may smoke in the gardens. In a nutshell the cottage consists of: Rooms – Entrance hall, landing, 2 bedrooms – 1 double, 1 twin; 1 bathroom with full size tub with electric shower over and a separate toilet with full size wash basin. Olde farm holiday cottages are the best no one else even comes close. We have used countless places over time for holiday destinations but nothing compares to the welcome and quality of everything at Olde farm holiday cottages. We would never think twice about referring anyone to them because Dalene and Alex over years have been consistently great! We have taken our old border collie there as well as our brand new puppy both welcomed with open arms and no expense spared. A dog friendly place run by dog owners to the highest standard
