Hidden away amidst rolling green hills and the narrow country lanes of East Devon, Kingfisher cottage is one of a small group cottages lying within the owners’ immaculate grounds just outside the village of Membury.

Kingfisher is a spacious and comfortable cottage with immense character and charm. The cottage has two en-suite bedrooms, a double room on the first floor, and a ground floor twin that can be a superking on request. There is also a small single room.

A pretty, first floor sitting room is dual aspect and bright and airy, boasting wonderful views across the grounds and countryside beyond.

The well equipped kitchen/diner and a utility room are on the ground floor.

Outside to the front there is a sunny patio equipped with seating and table, and to the rear, a dinky, private garden, surrounded with pretty, flowering shrubs which offers a lovely spot for an afternoon cream tea as the sun creeps around the side of the cottage. The immaculate grounds are shared with the other cottages on site, and have a barbecue area and seating for picnics or relaxing with a good book. There is a network of footpaths on your doorstep

Membury lies in a beautiful corner of the Blackdown Hills an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is conveniently placed to explore East Devon, Dorset and Somerset, The market town of Axminster is just 4 miles away where you will find the Axminster River Cottage Canteen and just outside the town, River Cottage HQ.

Visit the coastal town of Seaton and the new Seaton Jurassic, or a stroll along Seaton Wetlands and discover the wildlife that live in along the scenic estuary. The popular coastal resort of Lyme Regis is 9 miles distant. There are some super gastro pubs in the area.

Three bedrooms: one ground twin (link-able to a super king-size double on request), with en-suite bathroom, bath, shower over, basin and WC and one first floor double with en-suite bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC. First floor single bedroom. First floor sitting room. Ground floor kitchen with dining room. Utility room.

Under an "Affordable Holiday" scheme, prices are £270-£560 per week and visitors bring their own bed linen etc and pay for the fuel they use. (Foreign guests may hire bed linen and towels at an extra charge.)
