Read More⭐️The Perfect Holiday Let⭐️
With a large water’s edge hot tub on its own private patio; an enormous lake on which to paddleboard, windsurf, or kayak; a jetty from which to fish; a private spacious suntrap on the decking; a private enclosed grassed garden with patio, it’s easy to see why the Lakeside Retreat at Tallington holiday rental is the go to dog friendly self catering holiday let for couples, families, and friends.
Luxury 5 ⭐️ Lodge
Perfectly positioned in a stunning peaceful rural location at the top of the largest of the spring water fed lakes at Tallington Lakes in Lincolnshire, with parking for two cars, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, Wi-Fi of course and only a short drive from everything you could need for your perfect holiday, the Lakeside Retreat at Tallington holiday let offers the chance to sample a slice of lakeside living. Note that Tallington Lakes is a gated community, not a holiday park - The Retreat is one of only 5 rentals on site.
Lakeside Retreat is in demand - with its far reaching rural views to the back and stunning panoramic lake views to the front, it’s no wonder that Sykes Cottages placed us at position 4 in their ‘best lakeside views’ article!
🛌 A Good Night's Sleep
Visiting as a couple? You will love the king size bed with luxury bedding and en-suite bathroom. The walk in wardrobe is big enough to neatly house all your packing.
More than 2? If you are after a sleeps 4, the second room may be made up as a twin or a double. It has easy access to the second bathroom, which has a walk in shower. Both bedrooms have a TV.
All linen, towels and tea towels are included.
🏠 Home from Home
There is off road parking for 2 cars right outside the lodge. Unload your car, and you will soon be impressed with the quality of this contemporary lodge. Designed for all year round living, with double glazed windows, central heating, air con, and super squishy throws, what could be better than watching storm clouds gather across the lake while you are safe and warm inside?
Visiting in summer? You will be glad of the air con as the front of the lodge is a wonderful suntrap. Draw the canopy across, and relax on the quality outside seating before dining al fresco on the patio. Both areas are right on the lake, with huge glass panels on the decking for uninterrupted views. The jetty is accessed via steps, many an hour could be spent fishing from here. Please note that the Retreat does not have a hot tub.
🍽 Living and Dining
With stunning views over the lake, the stylish living space has a large L shaped sofa which incorporates a sofa bed, and a stunning chaise longue. Air conditioning, a 50 inch smart TV and complimentary WIFi all contribute towards this being one of your best holidays. You will delight at the unexpected small touches, such as swan food, a guide to birds, and binoculars.
The Lakeside Retreat has a fully fitted kitchen with washing machine, electric oven, gas hob, toaster, microwave, kettle, full sized fridge freezer. We provide essentials for a drink and a treat for when you arrive. The dining table seats 6, but with many pubs and restaurants nearby, you might prefer to dine out. The owner recommends The Whistle Stop pub for evening meals - it’s about 20 minutes walk from the lodge.

🐶 🐱 Pets Welcome
There is no charge for pets at the Lakeside Retreat. The owner has 4 dogs and 2 cats - she doesn't charge for dogs as she trusts that you will choose the Retreat only if it suits your needs, and that you will look after it. Dogs are allowed on furniture, on the condition that you please provide your own bedding and throws. The kitchen houses a full sized freezer - perfect for storing food if you feed raw food! Outside you will find a warm dog shower, and even shampoo and towels are provided for your pooches.
Dogs may be left unattended by arrangement - the Retreat has 4 crates available for use should you wish to, and it's even possible to arrange a dog sitter if you wish. The enclosed garden was recently enjoyed by 8 chihuahuas so it is safe for teeny dogs. The fencing is rigid screens and wire fencing to 4 feet. There is a dogs on lead rule on site, of course, to protect the wildlife, but here’s a link to a great site that shows local footpaths. Dogs are not allowed to swim in the lake - there is a gate to pre ent this happening accidentally. The owner has also done a bit of research into this and has left suggestions for walks in the lodge.

🌳 🚗 🚗 Outside
Off road parking for 2 cars is right next to the lodge. Head up 4 steps onto the wraparound verandah, and onto the decking where you can appreciate the huge Lincolnshire sky and the vast lake. Right outside the lodge door is a gate to the garden, which is mainly grass, with a picnic bench on the patio overlooking the lake. Both areas have access to the jetty, via gates. The gates ensure a flexible and safe environment for anyone visiting with dogs or children. The jetty may be used for fishing, or you can launch your own kayaks or paddle boards from here (ask for details). Please note that the Lakeside Retreat at Tallington does not have a hot tub.
☀️ Seasonal On Site Attractions
How about water activities, and land activities, all under the careful guidance of Tallington Lakes Activity Centre? If you don't have your own, the sailing centre is close by - why not take a look at the Tallington Lakes website and look into hiring a kayak or paddle board ? Other water activities are also available, maybe zorbing, banana boat rides, or even wind surfing takes your fancy? There is open water swimming too - see the website for details. The outdoor heated swimming pool is popular with families.
