Beautiful, traditional Stone Cottage, set within a popular Peak District village with stunning walks from the doorstep and further beyond. Very dog friendly with an enclosed garden and a "Doggy Welcome Pack" for all of our four-legged guests. Sleeps 4 of the two-legged guest variety!
Read MoreHope View is a traditional, Peak District cottage, with a lovely enclosed cottage garden. Our aim is for our guests to enjoy a home-from-home experience in our holiday cottage; we have tried to think of everything that our guests might need to feel totally at home. The cottage has two very comfortable double bedrooms, one with a double-sized brass bed and the second with two 3ft single divans (which can be made up into a superking bed, on request) and a bathroom upstairs, with a bath and electric overhead shower. Downstairs, there is a cosy lounge, with a multi-fuel stove, TV, DVD and Netflix, books and games for nights in. There is a well-equipped modern kitchen/diner for lazy breakfasts and dinners, and a large pantry for storage, housing a large fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and dishwasher. Free WiFi is available for all of our guests. Outside, there is a colourful, mature garden with a lawn, table and chairs for 4 people, a charcoal BBQ and a cosy seating area for two, tucked away. An outhouse provides storage for bikes, plus fuel for the stove and charcoal for the BBQ, and a tap for cleaning muddy (happy) dogs! Hartington is an incredibly well served village with many amenities including a pub and hotel (both serving food), cafes, shops, local cheese shop, post office and garage. Situated within the Derbyshire Dales and the Peak District National Park, it is a perfect place to enjoy long walks; from the cottage, you can walk to Dovedale, one of the prettiest walks in Derbyshire, so don’t forget your walking boots, or head north along the river to Axe Edge for stunning views. Alternatively, enjoy leisurely bike rides in the beautiful countryside; the High Peak, Tissington and Manifold Trails are within easy reach of Hope View, which are great for walking along and also where you can hire bicycles, if you don't bring your own. Nearby, there is Carsington Water for sailing and water sports. Chatsworth, the medieval Haddon Hall or in contrast Alton Towers theme park and spa can all be easily reached. Buxton, renowned for its Opera House and Pavilion Gardens, Leek, Ashbourne and Bakewell are just a short drive away.

Sue, March 2022
My husband and I (and our 4 dogs) were luck enough to rent this fabulous cottage for a few weeks while our house was undergoing some work. Its simply gorgeous, very cosy, well equipped and in a wonderful location. Janet is a fabulous host and makes you feel very welcome. She has thought of everything and this is a real gem of a cottage. If you're thinking of visiting this area, don't hesitate, get Hope View booked.
