Location and Area:
An excellent and convenient holiday location situated near the quaint village store/post office selling local produce with excellent butchers offering locally sourced meat.

There are two popular pubs in the village selling tasty food and one hotel/restaurant. The well-known Seaton Electric Tramway which can be boarded at Colyford, runs along the stunning Axe Valley between the seaside town of Seaton and the small historic town of Colyton.

There is a superb riverside walk along the River Coly which starts opposite the White Hart Inn.

The coast at Seaton with Esplanade and spectacular mile long beach is just over a 5-minute drive. This is an exciting area for exploring the beaches and coves of the beautiful Lyme Bay coast. Also visit the Seaton Jurassic Centre and the Colyford and Seaton Wetlands made up of four Local Nature Reserves with viewing hide. Spectacular cliff top walks from Seaton to the pretty fishing village of Beer and onto the seaside village of Branscombe, surrounded by National Trust land.

The popular coastal towns of Sidmouth and Lyme Regis are a 20-minute drive away.

Nearby is the market town of Axminster, famous for its carpets and the Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall ‘River Cottage Canteen’. Axminster also holds a Thursday weekly street market.

A visit to Colyford is an ideal way of exploring this ‘area of outstanding natural beauty’ and all the region has to offer.
