Duck's Cottage

Dogs: 2

Sleeps: 6

Bright and spacious, Duck’s cottage has been carefully converted by its owners from the former stables in the grounds of their ancient manor house. Tucked away at the end of a ‘no through’ road, guests will feel as if they are getting away from it all, yet there is also the atmosphere of being on a working farm. Attractive on the outside with modern styling and brilliant brickwork, the interior has been carefully planned out to ensure guests have a comfortable stay. Clever use of the space has resulted in a light and appealing rooms throughout, with neutral colours accented with more vibrant hues. The stylish and contemporary kitchen and bathrooms offer guests all the modern conveniences you would expect to enjoy during your break with family and friends. Outside, a secluded and inviting garden at the rear of the cottage is a welcoming place to return to after a busy day out. Duck’s Cottage and the owners’ own the fishing rights to both banks from there upstream, nearly as far as Cuttenham Farm (clearly shown on OS map). Manningford Trout Fishery is a series of lakes about one and a half miles from the cottage with excellent fishing for people of all level of skill. You will be spoilt for choice in terms of where to go and what to do, with Savernake Forest, just outside the delightful market town of Marlborough (about 15 miles), is ideal for walks and picnic while narrowboat trips are available on the Kennet and Avon Canal, a short distance away. Plenty of world-famous prehistoric sites are within easy reach including Stonehenge, Silbury Hill, Avebury and several white horses cut into hillsides in the Vale of Pewsey and nearby. Duck’s Cottage is a brilliant location from which to explore Wiltshire. Three bedrooms: 1 x ground floor bedroom with 4ft double, 1 x first floor kingsize bedroom plus ensuite shower room with WC, 1 x first floor zip/link bedroom (can be superking size or twin).
