Canal Cottage

Dogs: 2

Sleeps: 3

A mid-terrace house, sat in a lovely canal side location just a fifteen minute walk from Skipton's historic and award-winning high street. A delightful cottage-style house in a most enviable location overlooking the famous Leeds to Liverpool canal, making this an ideal holiday home to get away from it all and enjoy this ever popular location. Individually styled the cottage boasts a cosy sitting room with woodburning stove, a well-equipped kitchen, a pretty bathroom and two bedrooms. The main bedroom features a double bed and there is a useful single bedroom overlooking the rear garden. Outside, the garden is a real delight with a lovely summerhouse, a lovely gazebo and a wealth of summer bedding and mature plants for guests to enjoy. A gate leads out onto the canal towpath, making it ideal for walking and cycling. Take the left turning and head out into open countryside, watch the trains on the nearby Settle to Carlisle line or take a right turn and head off on a lovely walk into the town passing scores of moored narrow boats, the local park and the vibrant canal basin before entering the old market town. Skipton, well-known as The Gateway to the Dales, offers much for the visitor, a medieval castle, canal boat trips, a four day market, award-winning chippies, a swimming pool, golf course, excellent cycling routes and a myriad of walks, including easy rambles and challenging fell walks within close proximity of the town. Also close at hand to this Skipton cottage is a wide selection of restaurants, tea rooms and coffee shops for eating out, whilst the traditional market sells fresh produce throughout the year including local cheeses, fish, meats and fresh vegetables.
