The surrounding area is a nature lovers paradise with stunning limestone pavements and wonderful woodland walks through countryside alive with rare plants, trees and wildlife. Just a two minute walk away is the internationally renowned Leighton Moss RSPB Reserve. Further afield, but within easy touring distance, are the Lake District and Lune Valley, the Forest of Bowland and the Yorkshire Dales There is also a stunning coastal walk between Silverdale and Arnside, with the scenery changing from the estuary landscape out to Morecambe and Barrow, to the Lakeland Fells and Kent Viaduct to elegant Grange-over-Sands across the water.
