Greatstone Beach is about 2 miles long. It is divided into 3 sections by signs. 2 of the sections are open to dogs only in the winter but one section is open to dogs all year round. This section is next to the Varne Yacht club where there is also an inshore RLBI boat station in their grounds. The RBLI shop is dog friendly (water bowls etc) and serves teas & coffees (for people!!). The dog friendly beach area is sand dunes, a pebble area & the beach itself. Watch out for the wet sand. It sticks to dogs as we found with our Golden Retriever. The yacht club were kind enough to allow us to use their jet washer to get the mud off!! A public car park is situated next to the yacht club.

Dogs are not allowed from May to the end of September on the beach opposite the Jolly Fisherman and the beach opposite the holiday camp.
