Eastcliff Beach
Dogs are allowed on the beach all year but must be kept on a lead when on the promenade. Unlike the other beaches in Lyme Regis there isn’t much in the way of a backdrop or facilities at East Cliff Beach. Instead there is a rather austere sea wall which supports a promenade leading to Charmouth beach.
If you do walk round to Charmouth beach be aware you might not be able to get back this way if the tide is in. Care should also be taken when walking past the cliff faces along this section as they are prone to rock falls and mudslides, particularly during winter storms. Known as the Spittles these cliffs are also known as one of the best fossil hunting spots on the coast.
