Criccieth Beach
The crescent of sand and shingle beach at Criccieth sits in the lee of a a rocky headland upon which stand the imposing ruins of a 13th century castle. This headland provides lots of shelter from the prevailing westerly winds and combined with a gently sloping beach provides an excellent family beach.
Towards the castle end of the beach tends to be more shingle whilst as you head eastwards the beach becomes more sandy as it stretches away into Tremadog bay.
There is a seasonal dog ban on most of the beach between April 1st and September 30th. There is however a dog friendly area at the eastern end of the beach, beyond the car park.
