In the summer after 6pm a lot of people come to BBQ and enjoy later summer evenings. It feels as though you are in another country. Most of the time when it's not peak summer, the beach is empty and has some lovely chalk cliffs and formations. It's easy to walk all the way along to Margate with the dogs too.
