The DogFriendly Face of the Year Photo Competition 2017

This is Polar Bear, the winner of the DogFriendly Face of the Year competition 2017 chosen by our celebrity judge, Paul Martin of BBC’s “Flog It!”

The comment that came with Polar Bear’s entry was:

“I’m not a Cocker Poo, a cavapoo, a doodle this or that, or a posh pedigree. I'm just a plain old fashioned mixed-breed and my name is Polar Bear. If you think I have a friendly face please vote for me - and maybe, just maybe, we can help bring the good old-fashioned mixed-breed rescue dogs, just like me, back in vogue ! X”

Paul Martin Judge

There were two parts to this year’s photo competition. Firstly the “DogFriendly Face of the Year” which was chosen by our celebrity judge Paul Martin of BBC2’s “Flog it!” from every single entry in the competition.

Paul and his wife Charlotte had a massive task with more than 3,500 wonderful photos to choose from. Paul said of the winning photo “Polar Bear looks like pure friendly fun and has joy written all over its face. I could imagine playing and running about with my kids and this dog and creating lots of wonderful memories”. We couldn’t agree more Paul and thank you so much for all the help and support that you and Charlotte have given us.

Polar Bear has won a £1,000 DogFriendly holiday voucher and will appear on the front cover our DogFriendly magazine.

The second part of this year’s competition was voted for by the public. The 40 pictures with the most votes were presented to the judges and 12 were chosen for our 2018 “DogFriendly Calendar”. You can view the 40 photos with the highest number of votes by clicking here and the 12 winning photos that will appear in the DogFriendly calendar are below. All 40 finalists have won a hamper of goodies from WOOF&BREW and the 12 winners will appear in the 2018 DogFriendly calendar and have each won a £250 DogFriendly holiday voucher and a professional photo shoot.
